Prologue

Hello everyone, I started this book mainly to try my hand at writing. I don't know if I'll do any good; if I do well, give me some stones. I tried this genre because there weren't many Bl Boys Love with action-type stories. It's nothing graphic, just small puppy love. Everything will only be action-based, with a few mentions of love between the characters.

_____

It all started with a single scream, a horrifying scream that echoed in the air. That day, the sky was clear, the sun shone brightly, and puffy clouds floated lazily in the breeze. Fishermen sail on their boats, and people in the port unload and descale fish. Everyone worked diligently while their small children played, and the elderly sat at home watching. The port was noisy with the various voices as the townspeople made small talk. It was just past noon; it looked like it would be another uneventful day until they all heard it; the sound vibrated through the loud chatter of the market.

(Ah!..) the scream echoes in everyone's ears. A scream that would signal the tragedy that would befall the small coastal town in the Mimbo Republic.

The fisherman that had just anchored on the bay, hearing the scream, rushed to the general direction they thought the scream came from, and not soon after, another scream echoed in the air. This time, the scream sounded much younger than the earlier one. Thousands of thoughts passed by the rushing man as they devised countless scenarios about what was happening. Many hope that it was simply a stupid kid being a kid. But they knew the scream had been fueled with too much emotion for it to be child's play.

Their expectations were shattered and upheld as they entered an open farming field. Five farmers and three children could be seen on the ground bleeding, while a large brown creature was holding down two other children. Those with more experience with the wildlife around them immediately recognize the beast.

"That's the Carnivorous Gibbon!" a man in the crowd screamed. The large brown creature was a type of ape. Its stature was over six feet tall; it had razor-sharp teeth like a shark and long limbs. There were other types of the same species, but you could differentiate this species by their four long muscular arms that they could use to grab their prey. What was terrifying about this species wasn't their physique or their speed. The horror of this particular species was that they tortured their prey while it was alive, making them call for help in hopes of luring even more prey.

"Don't they live deep in the forest? What are they doing so close to town?" another man in the crowd asked.

"I don't know, but they're extremely dangerous; we must call for help. We can't deal with these many," said the first man, shouting solemnly. Their expression was dark and hopeless because fifteen of the predatory creatures in the field had already turned around and looked at the crowd that had shown up.

(Gigi..!) Gibbon gave a dangerous and cruel laugh seeing the townspeople. As if to prove their cruelty, one of the Gibbons that was holding down a small girl raised her and bit into her arm. The small girl gave off a terrorized scream full of pain as her flesh was pulled off, leaving her bone exposed.

"Help! Daddy! Help!" she screamed.

"Lily!" a man, the girl's father, rushed out of the crowd, not caring about the danger. His only thought was of saving his daughter.

"You fool! Stopp, they will kill you too!." screamed the man that had identified the Gibbon. The father didn't stop not caring about the warning. Two Gibbon rush out from the pack and attack the man. One took a bite from the man's neck while the other held one leg and started biting it off. They didn't even give him a chance to scream as they killed him. They did like to torture, but with so much prey, they could enjoy killing a lot more.

"Hurry! Evacuate the children and grab any weapons you can. They won't leave us alone until they have satisfied their hunger. We have to call for a hunter." As soon as the man finished his sentence, the rest of the Gibbons rushed at their prey like any other hungry predator. What the man left unsaid was that the Carnivorous Gibbon could eat up to two hundred pounds of food.

Usually, the Gibbon had a natural prey and a natural enemy. Its prey was the giant boar, whose body size was large enough to feed a large town. They weren't hunted by humans, as their hide was too strong to be penetrated by normal weapons, and their meat was too tough for it to be edible. The titan forest snake was their natural enemy; it kept the Gibbon population in check.

The forest had always been calm and kept in perfect balance. Even after humans had settled in, they did not disturb the natural ecosystem. There were also records and warnings not to hunt down the three local dominant species, afraid of disturbing the forest's symbiosis. The Gibbon, with its strong jaws and teeth, was the only one who didn't have any problem with the meat of the giant boar. Something had to have happened in the forest to drive the Gibbon to the coast and into human settlements.

The chaos spread like a while fire. Fear and death were in the air; two of the fifteen Gibbons had died over two hours, killed by a group of twenty men. In contrast, hundreds of the townspeople had died at the hands of the remaining Gibbon. The town walls were dyed red with the blood of the young and the old. The commotion had attracted the remaining fishermen at sea, making them join in the chaos; some saw the boats come to shore and try to board the ships to escape, and others wanted to make it off on those already anchored.

The Gibbon weren't just mindless animals; they had the intelligence of a five-year-old child who had yet to have any critical thinking, but it was enough to know that they couldn't let their prey escape. Most of the Gibbon decided to attack the ships first, not letting anyone escape. Herding the rest of the townspeople back into town, trapping them, giving them only one escape route, the forest, but none dared to go because a forest was Gibbon's natural territory.

A family of three, a little tan because of the sunny days, was running. The town was in chaos. They were a few of the last remaining people who were still alive after the Gibbon had attacked the ships. All three of them had raven black hair. The mother was a beautiful woman with straight, long black hair. Her body was complete in all the right places, just as any man would want, but the man running next to he had already taken her heart.

The man was burly and tan, much more tan than his wife and child; he was a fisherman, so it wasn't a surprise. He had short black hair, and a white rope was tied in a noose around his head. He had a short stubble for a beard; he was missing his mustache. He had a handsome, manly face that said father, but right now, his face was the furthest concern from anyone's mind. He tightened his grip on his eight-year-old child while holding his wife's hand as they ran away from the screams behind them; they didn't dare look back.

The eight-year-old child was a reflection of his mother, he was cute yet you could see the manly face of his father, many had told the couple that Jett looked like his mother, but would end up growing handsome like his father in the future. Those memories weren't something they were thinking about while they ran. Jett's father's thoughts were on ways to escape, where to hide, or better yet, any place that would let his wife and child survive; his life was secondary to theirs. Jett's mother's thoughts mirror her husband's; hers were about allowing her husband and child to survive, thinking that her child would have a better chance of surviving with her husband than she did. She was ready to throw herself at the beast to let her husband and child escape.

That thought came true faster than she had thought. From the corner of her eyes, she saw a hairy hand reaching for her husband. With a burst of speed that could leave most of Earth's athletes in the dust, she pushed her husband out of the way, putting herself into the hand that was about to grab him. They would have played this part in slow motion if this scene were in a movie. From the moment the Gibbons's hand reached out to when her husband was turning around. Feeling that he had been pushed out of the way by a soft hand, he would never mistake, he turned to watch his wife get captured.

"Run!, Milo. Don't look back; run and escape with Jett!" she screamed with tears in her eyes. Milo gritted his teeth and ran. He ran, but there was an indescribable look in his eyes. As he ran, his eyes scanned his surroundings, looking for a hiding place for his child. As he came close to a destroyed house, he saw a hole under the edge of a house dug out by someone, maybe a dog or a child playing. Seeing that the hole was just large enough to fit his eight-year-old son, he stopped and put his son inside. He could see his son was terrified; the whole time, he had not screamed or shouted; he was mute with fear.

"Jett, hide here. Daddy will go and save Mommy, okay? Hide and don't make a noise until I come back for you," he said. His son said nothing. Jett simply stared into his father's eyes, not a single thought crossing his mind. He simply watched as his father left.

His wife struggled to make it harder for the Gibbon to chase after her husband. She had seen how fast the creature had killed others, she was also one of the few people who knew about the Gibbons's nature, she knew that the reason it hadn't killed her right away was because it was planning to use her to lure her husband. The thought filled her mind with an unwavering courage she didn't know she had. Unknown to her, a birthmark she had behind her right shoulder all her life turned crimson. The birthmark resembles a double helix without the middle sections, which often represent a DNA double helix. She felt a surge of strength, and with her newfound power, she kicked the Gibbon's knees, making it give out under its weight and fall. Surprisedly, the Gibbon reflectively put more strength into the hand holding the woman's right arm, breaking it.

(Ah...!) Her screams echo in the now-silent town.

"Nori!" her husband ran at full speed and tackled the kneeling beast. Surprise yet again, the Gibbon loosened his grip on the woman, allowing Milo to grab her and run. Anger by its prey fighting back, the Gibbon didn't care about keeping them alive anymore. It quickly stood, giving chase, but it didn't have to run far because the other twelve Gibbon were blocking the couple. MiIo, in his panic state to escape, hadn't noticed that he had run in full view of his son. The boy's mother saw one of the Gibbons on top of the house where her child was hiding. Looking at him, she pleaded for it to stop in a panic.

"No, Please." Jett heard his mother's voice. He snapped out of his shock and ran out.

"Mommy, Daddy!" he screamed, not realizing that one of the monsters was behind him.

(Gigigi) the monster gave off a hysterical laugh of joy.

Jett had always been gentle and kind, with a strong sense of justice. When he saw someone having a hard time, he would offer his help without ever asking for anything in return; it was what his parents had taught him. That was until now when he decided to leave his hiding place, and emotions he didn't know started to surge inside him. This time was also the exact moment when his mother was killed. They live to torture their prey; the screams of their prey made them feel an emotion that they didn't understand but knew that it gave them a euphoric feeling of joy. Although it wasn't as exhilarating as when they watched their prey cry for the prey they were torturing.

That moment was also when something new was born inside Jett's tiny body. A dark and searing heat inside him that boils his blood. Like his mother, Jett also had that same birthmark on his right shoulder. The birthmark boiled red like the color of lava, and suddenly, a white aura exploded from Jett's body. Jett didn't know the new feeling; he was only eight years old, and all he could feel was that he wanted to hurt the monster that hurt his mom and dad.

He felt he wanted to do something with all the power but didn't know what; his body hadn't developed, and he knew nothing about the new power. He attacked the beast, still holding his father, but was forcefully punched back. The small boy could only run wildly at the beast; he had never fought his life, and any attack he tried was met with a punch. The Gibbon were playing with him; they had noticed that he had some mysterious aura around him; at first, they were on guard, but as he started attacking, all their reservations were gone. They attacked him without holding back. Jett's body was strong because of the strange power so that he could take the hits. Even with all that power he could feel, he could still not do anything for them, and his efforts were useless.

With their belly full and Jett the last prey they were able to find, the Gibbon decided to kill his father. Jett watched as the neck grabbed his father; he watched as the Gibbon snapped his father's neck like a broken toy. Something inside him broke, and what happened next froze all the Gibbon in place. An extremely dark and sinister black aura started coming from Jett's body.

"Mommy, Daddy...Please wake up; I don't feel good; it hurts. My chest is burning." The burning sensation in Jett's chest kept increasing without stopping; he felt like he would explode. He could also feel, or the best way to describe it was more an instinct; he knew if he let that emotion take him, he would feel much better. Clenching his chess with his tiny hand, Jett looks at his dead parents. The approaching monsters were slowly blocking the view of his parent's corpse; seeing this, he slowly let that feeling take him.

His head became fuzzy, and a high-pitched noise covered his ears. His mind was slowly sinking deeper into a dark place. Just as he was letting go, two phantom hands seemed to reach out to him from the emptiness of the air. Jett could feel it. He knew those hands that held him daily and told him they loved him.

"Mom, Dad?" he said, sure it was his parents.

"Run, Jett you can do it, You have the power to run and live." the echoing ghostly voice of his mother said.

"Be brave, son, run and stay alive." this time, it was his father's voice.

"I don't want to. Can I go with you? I don't want to be alone," Jett cried.

Longing to be with his parents, Jett didn't hesitate any longer and let go. A transparent silhouette of Jett moved out of his body and hugged his parents. His parents only smiled at him; they took his hands and started to walk to an unknown destination. Jett looked back at his body; he could feel a pull, a pull that reminded him of something he had to do, and he could not leave until it was done.

'Please, please help me; make them pay.' Jett said.

He didn't know to whom or why he said those words, but he felt it was the right thing to say. He could feel that he was somehow saying those words to the blue flame around his body. With those words, Jett no longer felt that strange pull. Just as he was about to turn and walk with his parents, he heard a distant voice.

'Okay. I swear I will make them pay."

The now-dead Jett had no way of knowing that he had created a contract with someone unknown, allowing them into the world. Jett's strong emotions influenced his nen, commanding his (nen) to seek out an existence that could complete Jett's last wish. The (nen) with Jett's last will reaches out and pulls, bringing a soul from a faraway world—that was how strong his emotions were at the moment of his death.

It was then that a silhouette of a young teen appeared out of the void. As he appeared in place, he was able to hear Jett's plea. The silhouette saw his surroundings and understood what was going on. He answered without hesitation because the opportunity before him was one that he could not afford to pass up.
