Toji's tasks

(3rd Person POV)

"TOOOJIIII!!!!"

*BOOOM*

"Where were you?! There are things to do and you just leave!! Your Lieutenant had to take care of everything in your place and was overwhelmed. Get your stuff in order before I take you for another beating!", Yamamoto screamed at Toji when he came to see him.

"Ay ay, Yama-ji. Kira has been doing my work since the day he left the Academy. Thanks to the Aizen brat, he knows everything there is to know about paperwork. I was smart and asked him to learn from him. Sometimes my genius .."

"Enough! You are to go to the World of the Living and get back Rukia Kuchiki, Renji Abarai, Captain Hitsugaya, Lieutenant Matsumoto as well as third and fourth seat Ikkaku and Yumichika. There has been some progress in the matter concerning Sosuke Aizen.", Yamamoto began to explain.

"Oh? What happened?"

"A few days ago, the SRDI detected the arrival of two very powerful Hollows in Karakura Town, which turned out to be Arrancar. They were there apparently to search for Kurosaki Ichigo and in their search they killed many humans. 

The two Arrancar were repelled thanks to the intervention of Urahara Kisuke and Shihoin Yoruichi after Kurosaki Ichigo and his human friends were defeated. 

To help defend the World of the Living an advance team was sent to Karakura town, which is made up of the Shinigami I mentioned before.", Yamamoto explained.

"Those are quite a few Lieutenants. What's the idea of sending one captain and that many Lieutenants? Do you think they are enough to fight against Hollows whom two former Captains were needed to deal with?", Toji asked.

"As it happened it did turn out to be a good idea. Another squad of Arrancar arrived shortly after the advance team was sent there. One Arrancar called himself Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, is revealed to be a member of the Espada, the top 10 strongest Arrancar under Aizen's command."

Yamamoto went on to explain in detail about the fights which the Lieutenants and Captain Histugaya had with the Arrancar. It was strange for Toji. On one hand, he was disappointed and on the other hand, he was surprised. He had expected the Arrancar to be stronger, now that he had nearly killed Aizen, but for them to be nearly the same strength and the Shinigami still nearly losing and getting badly injured ... that was embarrassing. 

"So you want me to babysit the babysitters? Is that what I have become now? I don't believe this to be a smart move Yama-ji. I think this is precisely what Aizen wants."

"Nonsense! I have deduced Aizen's true objective.", Yamamoto said.

"Oh? And what is that?"

"Aizen Sosuke was looking at information about the Ouken.", Yamamoto said.

"I see and what does the Ouken have to do with the advance team in Karakura town?"

"As you know the Ouken is the key that opens the gate to the dimension of the Soul King Palace. From his last words, before you so rudely interrupted him, as you do, we can deduce that it is his goal to become the new Soul King."

"Aha, so you are worried about him creating the Ouken to gain access to the Royal Palace then."

"As perceptive as always Toji. But I am sure that you knew this already."

"Hahaha, oh well. So what do you want me to do? Transport the Karakura town away from where it lies? Or just guard it, because the advance team is useless?", Toji asked.

"For now yes. As much as it pains me to admit it, you are correct about your assessment of the capabilities of the Shinigami. You are to relocate to the World of the Living for the time being and keep watch for any more moves that Aizen might make in the short amount of time we still have. 

According to Kurotsuchi's report, after being released from a soul, the Hogyoku is in a deep sleep. Since you have taken away this Hogyoku, it can be assumed that Aizen Sosuke has another Hogyoku which he himself created. 

Based on the already existing Arrancar that has visited Karakura Town, it stands to reason that he has found a way to activate his Hogyoku by feeding it the necessary materials which he stole from the noble houses. However, because you have taken the other Hogyoku, it stands to reason that we still have some time before Aizen can gather his allies. He will be making his move after that."

"Yare yare daze ... so I am supposed to do what ... go to school again? There's no way, I'm doing that. The last one was enough."

"You are to stay there and make sure that nothing unexpected happens. Should the other members of the advance team slack off in their training, you have full authority to have them ... see reason..."

"Ahh, now we're talking Yama-ji. Sure I'll go. Not like I had anything else to do for now."

"Yes, that's also what I thought. This problem not only concerns the Soul Society now but is also a concern of the World of the Living. This means that Kurosaki Ichigo also has to be informed. I'm sure you know what this means, Toji."

"Oh well. I guess I can kick around a minor. Not like you get to do that often."

(Toji POV)

Well, that was interesting. I managed to get out of there before having to explain where I was the entire time. I didn't know the time difference was this big between the universes. 

I spent like a few hours in the Dragon Ball universe at most but it was a few weeks or more here. Truly strange. Eh, it doesn't matter now. At least I didn't miss too much of the fights. I wonder what Aizen has planned for me now that he knows there is someone, who's Zanpakuto is this powerful.

Oh, the glorious fights I will have that ... are going to be just so underwhelming. But I am still excited about what that brilliant mind of his has planned. Maybe he will kidnap someone that is close to me ... that would be ... many people. Yama-ji, Shunsui, Jushiro, Rangiku, Nanao and Yachiru belonged to that category. 

But I'm sure Aizen will try and keep Rangiku close to the battlefield because of Gin and the rest are full-fledged Captains, leaving only ... Nanao. but that seems a bit far-fetched. Whatever, I'll deal with the problem when I get there.

I opened a Senkaimon and walked through. The seal was placed on me to prevent me from 'damaging' the surroundings... if that would help in any way. 

I make my way to where I feel the high Reiatsu but am surprised when two of them arrive at my location. Captain Hitsugaya as well as Rangiku have come to greet me. Rangiku wastes no time and embraces me. 

"Toji-nii I missed you. Where were you? Did the Head Captain punish you with babysitting and now you had to come here? Are you going to be in a lot of trouble? Does the Central 46 know? Oh right, they are all dead. Will you lose your position? Does-", she went on and on until Hitsugaya stopped her.

"Matsumoto! That's enough. You are going to make Captain Fushiguro lose his ears."

"Haha, don't worry Captain Hitsugaya, I am used to it. What sort of brother would I be if I couldn't deal with the rambling of his smaller sister? So tell me all about your stay in the World of the Living Rangiku.", Toji said, much to Hitsugaya's dismay. 

"Oh? Well first we arrived here and I was not sure where to stay right? So everyone had to find a place to stay and I asked my new friend Orihime. You know Orihime right? The one with the big ...", and she went on and on and on until late at night.

We are going to skip everything Rangiku said as it is nothing new to us and just skip to the next thing that is of importance. 

"So where are you going to stay?", Rangiku asked me after she finally took some time to breathe.

"Well, I haven't decided yet. I don't really need any place to stay. I could just create one. Should I create our old shack you used to live in with Gin and me?", I ask her.

"Oh ... our old shack ... that brings back memories.", Rangiku gets melancholic thinking about her old shack. 

"Come now, Rangiku. If you want to get Gin back and ask him all those questions, then you just need strength. I already told you those things."

"But why can't you tell me already?"

"And what would that mean if I tell you? It is important that you hear it from Gin himself. You know that as well as I do. So stop whining and get to work. If you want, we can start tomorrow in the morning. I was tasked to see that the Shinigami don't slack off anyway. So you better not slack off young lady."

"Hey! I never slack off ... almost never ..."

"Right, and all those sake bottles you have in your house are just for decorations then?"

"How do you- That's not fair you are peeking into my home!"

"I am not. Why would I do that? Now come on, I'll get you home."

"So this is where you live?"

"Yes for the time being. Orihime is a cutey I tell you. But she is already spoken for, so hands off.", Rangiku says.

"What are you talking about? I always keep my hands to myself."

"Oh? Is that right? Well, poor Toji has to play with himself, even though there are so many ladies that would do it for him.", Rangiku taunts.

"Are you done, trying to tease me? You are talking with the King about getting on people's nerves. I invented the bother in Soul Society."

"That's true I guess. I didn't like the way everyone used to talk about you. I am glad that you shut everyone up with that cool move you did. Very impressive Toji."

"That was not my intention but ... I'm glad you liked it."

"Oh, hello Rangiku, and hello Captain Fushiguro. How nice of you to drop by.", a new voice, belonging to Orihime said.

"Yo, Orihime. I'm just bringing this young lady home. Don't let her give you alcohol you hear me? Oh and another thing Orihime. I was thinking of visiting Ichigo tomorrow."

"Oh, you too? Well, I went there as well. He is currently training with Hirako-san, Hiyori-san and the others. I think they are ..."

"Yes, I know that. So you are not coming tomorrow?"

"No, I also have to do some training."

"Alright then. Good night you two."

(3rd Person POV)

Toji was lying on his back, with his hands behind his head and looking at the sky. The night sky was very beautiful in this day of age. He has not yet seen that many cars in Karakura Town. He was sure that this was not Japan, even though it was. It was confusing. 

He could feel a presence approaching, but he didn't care about it and only continued to enjoy the cool air and the view. 

"How long are you going to pretend you don't sense me?", the voice said.

"Why would I pretend anything? I am simply watching the stars and don't care about anything else right now. You have to ruin the atmosphere."

"What are you doing here, Toji?", the female voice asked. 

"Oh? Did we progress onto a first-name basis? That was fast. One ass whooping and we immediately transcend all the social boundaries. Quite impressive."

"*Sigh* What are you doing here, Captain Fushiguro?"

"What back to last names now? You should make up your mind. Cat's and their change of attitude ... so confusing."

The woman groaned and kicked me in the sides. 

"Answer the question!"

"Again with the temper ... well if you must know, I am here to see to it that nothing 'unexpected' happens. Yama-ji thinks I am the right person to make sure that the Shinigami don't slack off and then there is also the good ol' Substitute Shinigami."

"What about him?"

"Well, sensei thinks I would be the right person to ... teach him some things. Although I agree, that he has the right amount of style to be my pupil, does he have what it takes to go through the hardship to get where he should be in a short amount of time? He is still a minor after all."

The woman had sat down next to Toji by this point and was looking at him. 

"He is stronger than you think. He can take it."

"We'll see. I'll visit the delinquent tomorrow."
