This month did wonders for both of them.
While Paige lost weight and got her blood circulation back online, Lance gained weight and even grew a bit.
The evening before school, they sat together again. Paige had managed to write an outline of the story during this time.
First, she wrote a story similar to the one in this world, then day after day she corrected it a bit until it was the same. Just a few electric shocks had to be endured; it was really easier than talking. She greeted Lance and sat opposite him, like a month ago, and gave him the sheet.
||Story outline: Lance Walker was from an aristocratic, rich family with millions of assets. With wealth comes enmity, and he was kidnapped as a young child of four years old.
His parents did everything they could to find him, only to be left disappointed.
After a few years, they found a boy named Jace.
The boy was in a bad state, but he looked similar to their lost child, and after a DNA test indicated that he was indeed their son, he was recognized back.
Happily, they lived on, and Jace—the name was adapted because he was already used to it—flourished under their care, becoming a model student.
On the first day of school in their first senior year, there were two new students. One was the female lead, Natasha, and the other was the real male lead, Lance.
Natasha, being the sweet and graceful female lead she was, was bullied on the first day and ostracized by the school bully. Lance helped her out by chance, becoming her desk mate; they became acquaintances.
The school bully fell in love with Lance at first sight and further terrorized Natasha during their three years until their graduation, becoming more and more outrageous.
The male lead chanced upon many situations, rescuing her and so on.
Jace came to be the second male lead, adding further trouble to the story. After much push and pull, Natasha got together with Lance, who was found out to be the 'real son.'
His family, not having the heart to get rid of Jace, let them live with them as brothers until Jace went too far in fighting the male lead, getting himself kicked out of the family.
The female school bully, Paige, was also from a rich family like everyone in this school, but having a relationship with the principal, she held considerably more power over the other pupils at school, being feared by everyone. After getting over the top with her hate for the female lead in college later, she was punished by the male lead. Blablabla and Happy End.||
Lance glanced at the "Blablabla" before the "Happy End" and chuckled.
What Paige hadn't written down was the hardcore stuff. This was a sadistic and very dark novel. That meant the male lead was raped shortly before attending the school, killing one of his attackers, starting to do drugs after that, had terrible temper outbursts, and played around with girls.
Later he imprisoned the female lead and... yeah.
Then Jace imprisoned the female lead too; she herself was imprisoned, and somehow everyone was imprisoned at least one time, and rape was scattered here and there.
She herself got set up for a gang rape by the male lead towards the end.
The author was apparently brain-damaged or had to compensate for some kind of sadistic complex.
It was a really disturbing read; she pulled through nonetheless because she was a shut-in; she had read every novel she could get her hands on, and after reading all the novels she found remotely interesting, she hoped to get amnesia and be able to read them again. But her memory was far too good, so reading a novel twice was torture for her.
After getting the outline from the system about this world, she had immediately remembered that she had read this before and mentally facepalmed.
"So we are in a happy, sappy high school romance with dog blood behind every door?" Lance scoffed.
She shook her palm slowly sideways, saying, "So-so."
