Paige was still shaking as Meier put her into the bathroom of her own room. He had used her bloody fingerprint to lock themselves in, not risking someone going in while she was washing up.

Fearing Lance's wrath, Meier put her in the shower with her clothes still on, letting the water wash the most of the blood away. When most of it came only from the clothes she wore, he asked her to undress, but with her not reacting, he had no choice.

Putting a towel over his head, he helped her undress and made sure that the water temperature was still comfortable.

Then he splashed her with water from every possible direction, without touching her, until he saw at her feet that only clear water came down. Luckily, the blood hadn't dried up just yet.

However, when he looked down at her feet, he found that she wore a silicone sock. He lifted the towel a bit to take a closer look, and yes. That was a prothesis.
