Jane cooked for everyone on Sunday morning to distract herself from yesterday. On one hand, it was good to know that she herself would have not only never named her second child after her first dead one, she would most likely not have tried to get pregnant again.

But remembering the deep belief during her second pregnancy the creator had instilled in her, for her to kill herself if her child would turn out to be a girl, it had shaken her to the core.
