What?! Theater?! So you actually joined a club? I said shocked that Travis actually got out of his comfort zone.

"Yeah I did I mean, I'm not going to do anything too crazy, I figured I could just play some small roles and see if the club is even for me." he explained to us.

"Have you ever been in a play before?" Aphmau asked Travis.

"When I was a little kid. I was in a few small plays and stuff. But I liked it, and I kind of want to try it now that I'm in high school." he told us.

Hahaha! That's awesome, Travis! we'll come to all of your plays and stuff. I said a little too enthusiastic.

"Really!? Well, wait, what if I get cast as a rock or something?" Travis said looking at the ground.

" Hmm, then you'll be the best rock you can be! I know it!" Aphmau said cheerfully.

Y-Y'all really believe in me? he said shyly.

"Absolutely. we'll be cheering you on in the audience. Even if we make a fool of ourselves by doing so." I stated confidently.

"Tha-Thanks. That- That's really sweet of you two. Travis said with a tint of pink on his cheeks.

Soon the teacher came in with a student I have not seen before. He had dark brown hair and green eyes that reminded me of Travis.

"All right, students, settle down. I know we're in our homeroom period right now, but I have an announcement to make. We have a new transfer student joining our class! Everyone, welcome Vylad Ro'maeve!" the teacher said.

Are you serious?!?! ANOTHER RO'MAEVE!!!

"Hi!" Vylad said waving at the class with a huge smile on his face.

"Wait, Ro'maeve. Does that mean you're related to-" the teacher started and Vylad nodded.

"Yup! That emo kid in the back row is my older brother. Hey, bro!" Vylad said waving at Zane with a stupid grin.

"Agh! Shut up, Vylad!" he said obviously annoyed.

I mean I hate the world and no one is more emo than I am but kick it down a notch dude!

"Well, that's one way to say hello. Heheh." Vylad said awkwardly laughing.

"Well, I didn't know you had another sibling, Zane. It must be nice to have two brothers in the same school. Now Vylad, take a seat. Everyone, be sure to make him feel at home." The teacher told us.

"Zane! Boy am I glad you're here." Vylad said going over to Zane's seat.

I could tell he admired his brothers whole heartedly and I remember when I felt that way too. But Aph was the reason I had hardly any friends. She left me behind to hang with her friends. I had to stay home while Aph got invited to birthday parties, sleepovers, and a lot more. Sometimes, it's quite nice to be alone to feel like a shadow that stays behind wherever your siblings go. But when you don't wanna feel that way, there's no way to turn it off.

"Ugh, whatever. Just stay away from me. It's bad enough I have to babysit you in high school." Zane grumbled.

"Uh, oh, heh, ok Zane, um, cool, um, I'll see you around! Heheh." Vylad said a bit sad.

"Uh, uh, Hey Vylad! My name is Aphmau! It's nice to meet you." Aphmau greeted.

"Hey! Oh, wow. I wasn't expecting anyone to talk to me so soon." He said to Aph.

"Hehe! Well, we just started this year of high school ourselves, so I kinda know how it feels to be new and alone. Hehehe! Oh, uh, speaking of which, these are my not-alone buddies, Travis and Y/N." Aph said.

"Hey Vylad, nice to meet ya!" Travis and I said at the same time.

We looked at each other and chuckled.

"Same to you Travis, Y/N, It's kind of nice that you approached me like that, Aph-meow. Uh, sorry, is that how you say your name?" he asked.

"Haha! Ah, no, but close enough. Don't worry. A lot of people have a hard time pronouncing my name. Heh!" Aphmau said chuckling.

Uh, Hey! Aphmau! Y/N! Vylad isn't going to take my not-alone buddies away from me, is he? Travis asked us with sad eyes.

I was flattered he actually did care about me.

Huh? What's a "not alone buddy"? Vylad asked looking between the three of us.

Oh, right. It's uh, something Aphmau and Travis came up with on their first day, heheh I eventually joined too. It's so we wouldn't feel so, awkward, and lonely. A-and no, Travis, no one is going to stop us from being not-alone buddies. It's a part of being in the club. Hm! I said confidently.

"We have a club?" Travis asked.

"O-Of course!" Aphmau said liking the idea.

"Man, there's more to this than I even knew..." Travis said trailing off.

Me and Aphmau giggled nervously.

" ...are there at least cool jackets we get for being in this?" Travis asked.

Aphmau looked at me like asking if I would buy jackets. I shook my head cause jackets are expensive.

"Heheh! No. There are not." Aphmau said turning back to Travis.

"Aww man!" Travis said slapping his hand on his thigh.

"Hehe! But the first rule is that nobody is ever alone. And the second rule is that anyone can be a buddy!" Aphmau said confidently.

"R-Really?" Vylad asked looking hopeful.

"Mm Hm!" I said.

"That's great, but... It's kinda a strange name. Maybe we could change it to something else?" Vylad suggested.

Pft! What could we possibly change it to? I scoffed.

"I don't know, something like... Friends?" he said and shrugged.

"Uh, Mmmm." Aphmau hummed.

"That does sound pretty cool." Travis said looking at me while nudging my shoulder.

"Ha! Hmm... We'll think about it. So, new not-alone buddy, what do you do for fun?" I asked him.

"Hmm, I just like to sit around and hang out." he said. Pretty chill for his first day.

"Ah, me too! Heh." Aph said to Vylad.

"Oh my God, we have so much in common!" Travis said sarcastically with a smirk on his face

Hehe! Though to be fair, I've been thinking about getting into something like a sport, kinda. I said.

Yeah me too Aphmau said nodding.

"A sport? Nice." Vylad said still as chill as ever.

"Mm hm. Do you do any?" Aph asked.

"Well, my mom made me sign up for fencing classes. I've been doing that for awhile, now." Vylad said scratching the back if his head.

Hmm, fencing. I noted

"You get to play with swords? Cool!" Travis explained really getting into it.

"Yeah, it's really not that cool. I mostly fight saber. It has the least rules. Wait- Is there a fencing team here?" Vyald asked with a look of hope and fear mixed in one facial expression.

I hummed in response not knowing the answer.

"Erm, I don't think so?" Travis said.

"Perfect! One less thing I'll have to do. Maybe now I can quit taking lessons, too." he said raising his fist in the air and bringing it down in victory.

Ah! You don't like playing with swords? Oh, that sounds like it would be so awesome! I'd love to do that." I said thinking about what I could do if I was allowed to play with swords.

"Well, you can play with swords all you want. It's not my thing. My mom said each of us had to play at least one sport. Garroth took baseball, I chose fencing." he explained.

Aphmau: Wait, G-Garroth?! So you're also Garroth's little brother? A-a-and that guy (Looks over a Zane) is your brother? So you're all related?

Vylad: Yep! We're fondly called the Ro'maeve brothers. Though Zane over there would like to stay as far away from that title as possible.

"I never would have guessed. So, what sport was he forced to play?" Aphmau said leaning back in her chair.

Heh, Zane's the exception. Mom says he's sensitive. Doesn't want any sport to rough him up." Vylad said.

"He could use some exercise so he can focus on something besides hating everything." I said and everyone snickered.

"Uh, what's living with him like?" Aphmau asked Vylad.

"Living with Zane?" He asked repeating what Aph had said.

"Yeah. I mean, he's so quiet, I barely even realize he's here. Whenever we see him, it's like, I don't know. Something is always bothering him. Is- Is he just like that?" Aphmau asked again.

"Not always. He wanted to go to O'khasis Prep, but he didn't get in.. The last thing Zane wanted was to go through high school in Garroth's shadow." He explained.

The moment I heard that my eyes widened. I tensed up and I realized that he was the one who had sent me the note that kind of tore down my self esteem...BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER!

~FLASHBACK~

3rd Person

Hi Zane! the H/C girl said to the boy with black hair. Hello Y/N... he said back to Y/N smiling underneath his mask. I brought My Little Horsies wanna play with me? Y/N asked him. No that show is stupid! Zane said to Y/N. No it isn't just play with me you'll see come on pleaaaseee!!

Y/N said begging. Ugh fine but I'm not going to enjoy this... he said grabbing the pinkie cake and sitting on the couch putting the show on

~TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY FLASHBACK~

Zuzu I'm tired.... Y/N said nodding her head about to fall asleep. Don't quit on me now Y/N we're on the last season!! Zane yelled not taking his eyes off the tv. Hehe I knew you'd love it now I'm tired... Y/N said and a few seconds later she fell asleep with her head rested on Zane's shoulder as he watched MLH until he eventually fell asleep too.

~TIME SKIP TO WHEN Y/N AND APHMAU LEAVE TOWN~

Zane will you promise me something? Y/N asked. Sure what is it? Zane said intrigued on what the promise was. I don't want you to forget me no matter what! Y/N said, crossing her arms. I promise. he said proudly. Just to make sure you promise I made contracts that you and I have to sign so we never forget each other. Y/N said determination in her tone. (I WILL DIGITALLY SLAP YOU IF YOU USE UNDERTALE REFERENCE) Ok where do I sign? Zane asked. Right here Y/N said pointing to a box on the paper. Y/N, sweetheart get in the car, Aphmau and I are waiting. Zane held out his hand for Y/N to shake but instead she hugged him. He tensed up for a moment but didn't hesitate to hug back. Goodbye Zuzu.. she mumbled in his chest cause in Elementary school she was a shortie. Bye S/N/N he said smiling through his mask. Eventually Y/N pulled away and walked away. She looked back and waved to him but by the time she had gotten into the car a lump of sadness filled her chest.

~FLASHBACK OVER~

Y/N!! Aphmau yelled

What!! I mocked.

We've been calling your name for the last two minutes you ok? Vylad said looking concerned.

Oh yeah I'm fine just lost in thought. I said reassuringly. Good then...Let's move on! Aph said changing the subject.

"I've got Home Ec. People still teach that class?" Vylad asked.

"Oh, nice! That class is awesome! I call it second lunch. Hehehehe!" Aphmau said happily.

"Ah! Do you take it?" Vylad asked her. She shook her head no.

"Um, pth. No, I don't. Heheh. Ugh." she said awkwardly.

"I don't understand. I don't remember signing up for this class." he said looking at his schedule.

Uh, yeah. The same thing happened to us. There must be some problem in the registration office. Um, you should probably head there and try to change that ASAP. I told him.

Well, I can do that after school. But I really need to get going. he said walking down the hall.

"Ok! Uh-" Aphmau said when she saw Vylad stop in the middle of the hallway.

" ... Now how do I get there?" he asked playing with his fingers.

"Heheheh. HAHAHA! You've asked the right person. Hehe!" Aphmau said laughing really weirdly.

"I did?" he asked her.

"Mm hm! Of course! I'm kind of a hall master at this point. I've gotten lost so man times, I pretty much know my way around." Aphmau said bragging on how many times she's gotten lost.

"That doesn't sound reassuring at all..." Vylad said nervously. Nor A thing to brag about.... I added.

"Haha! You can trust me. Come on, I'll get you to Home Ec in one piece. Alright?" she said.

"Alright, I trust ya!" he said.

"Heh, follow me!" she said to him we walked through the halls and finally made it. He walked inside and we left. Soon as we were walking we saw the Shadow Knights.

"We gotta get to class so- Huh?" Aphmau said noticing them.

"Who did that guy think he was?" Sasha said with her arms crossed.

"He blatantly ignored us!" Zenix said angrily.

"He's the new trouble maker on the block." Gene announced.

"So you're saying he can take you, Gene?" Sasha asked.

"Tsk. I don't need to fight." He said proudly.

"I've heard he's won all the fights he's been in so far." Zenix said.

"It's been like, what, five fights? I lost count." Sasha said trying to count on her fingers.

"Uh..." Aph said quietly do they wouldn't hear.

"Yeah, but the school can't do anything because no one can prove it was him. But come on, how dumb can the adults be? He's all scratched with bandages, and we've seen the fights. They're just over before anyone can get there." Zenix exclaimed.

"Chill. If we get in a fight with him, I can take em'." he said confidently.

"So confident, Gene. Oohh"! Sasha said sarcastically.

We need to get to class! she said quietly again.

"Stop drooling, Sasha. It's pathetic." Zenix said.

"Jealous?" Sasha smirked

"You two, finish that tag and we'll head to the coffee shop." Gene explained. "Well, look at who we have here. You're that girl who was hanging out with Laurance the other day at the park." And... Oh Hey Y/N! Sasha greeted.

"Hmph!" Aphmau said looking away.

What's wrong? Oh,.let me guess. Laurance told you not to talk to us, huh. Gene said faking a sad voice.

"No! Well, kinda, sorta. Why does it matter to you?" Aphmau said crossing her arms waiting for an answer.

"Wow. So he's spreading rumors about us then. Heh, come on, are you really going to believe what he says? You haven't even taken the time to get to know me!" Gene says dramatically.

" I-, uh," Aphmau stutters.

Kinda rude to judge a book by it's cover, isn't it? I say looking at Aphmau, giving them a half smirk.

"I'd love to talk to you, but I need to go to class now. I'm already late, and-" Aphmau started but got cut off.

GWhat's the rush? Do you see us going to class? We're just hanging out here. Why don't you sit with us, and get to know me and my friends here. It'll be fun. Even your friend here is going to join us isn't that right Y/N? he asked me. I nodded and stood next to Sasha.

Y/N? No, No. I really need to- Aphmau said sort of hurt at the beginning of her sentence.

"Come on, what's the harm?" Gene asked her.

"Gene, Leave her alone." That Teony girl Aph talked to on the first day said.

"Oh great, miss goody-two-shoes." Gene said sarcastically.

"Teony!" Aphmau said happily.

If she doesn't want to hang out with you, she doesn't have to. Aphmau, get to class. I'm going to write these four here up for skipping. Teony said.

I decided I was going to use my excellent acting skills in my favor.

Great. You're such a lame hall monitor, Teony. Why can't you just give us a warning. I said with a fake pout.

"Fine, but this is your first and last one of the year. I'm reporting you guys to the principal for graffiti, though, so hurry up and get to class before I change my mind." Teony said.

Fine, fine. Catch you later, little freshman. Heheh. Y/N you coming? Gene asked.

I glanced at Aphmau one last time and replied with "Yeah let's go".

Aphmau's Point Of View

Oh, thank you Teony, so much. I praised.

No problem. If you're lucky, maybe you're teacher won't mind you being ten minutes late. she said.

Right! Thanks, Teony! Y-you're awesome. But-But what about my sister? I asked.

What about her? she asked.

She was hanging with them and left with them should I go grab her I don't want her making bad decisions. I said sadly.

That's her choice Aphmau sometimes it's better if people express themselves where they belong. Even if they do it in a bad way. she explained to me.

O-Ok then I'm gonna head to class then. I said running off.

Once I got there Mr. Gavin was teaching and looked up when I opened the door.

"Glad you could join us late, miss Aphmau." He said glaring at me.

"I'm so sorry! There was this-" I started before I got cut off.

"No excuses! I want to see you after class to discuss this matter. Right now, we're in the middle of a lesson, so take your seat." he said pointing in the seat next to that Aaron kid.

"Y-yes, sir!" I said politely.

"Rgh, I though you were transferring out of this class." he said rudely.

"I don't want to hear it from you." I shot back.

"Whatever. I guess we're stuck in this class together, then." he said.

"Shut up." I told him.

I looked at him and then he looked at me. We both looked away and sighed loudly.

I looked in my files it wasn't there.

I checked my drawing folder it wasn't there either.

Heck I even checked mom's stuff I couldn't find it anywhere. But then I saw it the light blue paper I used to make it. The crooked words from when I was little. It's been there the whole time hiding behind my calendar. I opened it up and read it.

correct grammar:

I Y/N pledge to never ever forget the bestest friend I have ever had. No matter what happens I will always be there for them even if I can not physically be there.

I read it and instantly wished that I had never left because maybe Zane would still remember and care if I stayed. But I have friends now to keep me company and I know one day I will get Zane back...
