Expansion

Time has passed after the wedding. About three weeks and many things have changed in the village.

First, our agreements with the elves made our lives even better. The pots were really useful due to its ability to store food and the salt was used for preservation of the food. The exchange we gave the elves was red iron tools and equipment and some fine wine. It was a beneficial deal.

Second, roads have been constructed in the Crimson Woods in order to connect Norman Town and Crimson Village. Grano's team headed the construction with some elf builders also. Bubba and his team surveyed the area and Kirth was Head Security. I could not trust Bren in security because he can't even handle a bear in a normal forest. Anyways the construction has been going well and I am planning to give the builders rewards after.

Third, the council has been very busy. Due to the diplomatic arrangements with the Elves, the council has been busy with the paperwork and documents. The problem is that the other members of the council have other jobs to do since most of them are heads of security. This is quite hard to deal so I need to be creative on this. Then I suddenly got the idea. I just need to employ the people who can read, write, and calculate which are the students of the Crimson Academy. I told the council about my plan. I just need to take the Three best students and they approved. The three were Listh, Trat the Salamander who is also Craw's Son, and Norry, a female beastkin. They will be assisting Laur with the documentations so I called them the Logistics Group. The Council was so glad because they don't have to deal with the papers again. I am also glad since the kids were able to handle the documents perfectly. I need to give them rewards.

I and the council has been frequently visiting the Norman Town for observation. We are all gathering information on what can we do to make our village better and what can we do to make Norman Village also better. Grano concluded that we really need to do the stone tiles. The others agree so I will add that to our goals. Laur suggested that we should expand our village. She said that we should destroy the current walls and create a new one made out of stones and bricks and also to make it bigger and wider. Wright added that we should start accepting more settlers and refugees to make it even better. I have been thinking about these ideas for a long time so I am glad that they agree. The problem is that if we are getting bigger, we could possibly invite more enemies that could lead to war and all I wait is to live in peace. Kirth then added that our military is small compared to the elves but we are stronger. He said we need more soldiers if we are going to make our village bigger in order to guarantee peace. Now that we have plans for our next big project, I decided what is going to be first implemented. The construction of the new Stone Walls. Grano handled the engineering design. We also employed about 20 elves to help Grano's team. I have decided that I will focus on constructing new houses for our potential new residents. I also asked Chief Well if their town has some willing immigrants or poor elves that need houses and food. He said that his team will look at it. I also asked the Scouting team to scout for more nearby towns or cities so we can establish diplomatic relationships. I really never thought that what I will be doing in this world is diplomacy but I have no choice because I need to do this to protect my family. I need to be friends with all in order to maintain our peaceful life. I have no plans on waging war.

Anyways, the expansion plan starts with the construction of the stone walls. I plan on making this as big and wide as possible. I am planning to make this permanent because if we continue on expanding further. It may destroy the forest. I planned on having the stone wall shaped like a rectangle with a length of 3 km and a width of 5km. It is significantly bigger than the old walls but then again this is permanent. Grano also suggested to me that we should not destroy the old walls and use it as a final line of defense for the inner people. I agreed to him and I added some defenses also to the old wall. Grano predicted that the new stone wall construction will last at 3 months minimum and 5 months max. I was surprised at how fast it will take because I expected it to be a year but Grano said that his boys are now top-notch carpenters so it is fine.

The other members of our small number of guards continued on security and training. We have been training our men so that when we have new enlistees, they can do the training. Kirth has been so pumped and nervous about the idea of leading a large number of troops. He has also been frequently visiting the Norman Village and I think I know why. Hehehehe.

Even though we are busy, I and Laur have been having to continue our 'bonding' time every night because the fairies have been constantly pressuring us especially me on having an offspring as soon as possible. I am not complaining because I am having fun but I can really feel that I need to have a child as soon as possible because of the pressure. Laur seems also excited about the idea of having a baby so I am glad.

As I visit Chief Well and the Norman Village, he gave me a piece of very important news.

"Young Wreck, we have residents that want to immigrate."

"Great!"

"No. It seems like the right thing to say is that 'we want to immigrate them'."

"Why?"

"They have been troublemakers in our village. Our government has been having problems with them. They are hard to deal with. Do you still want to take them?"
