Chapter 43

"Melissa. What was that? Why were you arguing with that guy?" Noah asked me.

"He's just somebody from my past," I said taking a seat on the bed.

I didn't really want to talk about it. But I know Noah will push me to talk about it.

He doesn't know much about Adrian. He only knows that I moved away cause some guy broke my heart, but Noah doesn't know his name.

When I moved away, I had nightmares. About the bus accident. About Adrian. About Jennifer. And Noah was there for me.

I know he HATES the guy who broke my heart. I don't know if I can tell him that it was Adrian.

"Who is he, Melissa? You seemed very upset with him." Noah said. Noah took a seat next to me and rubbed my back.

"He's my ex," I said.

"Wait, is he the one who broke your heart?" Noah asked me.

I nodded slightly. Is it a mistake telling him?

No. I really like Noah. He deserves to know.

"Fucking asshole. Does he know what he did to you?" Noah asked.

"Noah, I'm not some victim. What happened was my fault. I broke up with him." I said.

"I don't get it. You were heartbroken. I always thought he broke up with you." Noah said.

"I'm going to tell you what happened. But I don't want you to look at me differently or treat me different." I said.

"Melissa, honey. You are scaring me." He said.

"Just listen to what I have to say," I said.

Noah nodded.

"Adrian, he uses to be my best friend. We were incredibly close. We did everything together. We were part of a group. Adrian, me, Jennifer, and Blake. We were inseparable. Until Adrina and I had sex." I said.

"You slept with him?" Noah asked.

"Yes. It was for a stupid reason. Both of us were virgins and Adrian had the idea that we should have sex and get it over with. And that's what we did." I said.

Noah didn't' say anything. So I continued

"We decided that sex was so fun that we would start friends with benefits," I said.

"A what?!" Noah said raising his voice.

"Please, Noah. Let me finish." I said.

Noah rolled his eyes and shut his mouth.

"Well, turns out my friend Jennifer, was head over heels in love with Adrian. She soon found out that I was having sex with Adrian. So she threw me in front of a bus. Hoping to kill me, then make Adrian come to her for comfort and then they would fall in love." I said.

"But her plan didn't work out," I said.

"I ended up going to the hospital. But while I was there, I got some news. Some horrible news. I found out that I was pregnant and when the bus hit me, I lost the baby." I said.

"You were pregnant? Was it Adrian's?" Noah asked.

"Yes. But after that, we stopped. But then we told my parents and my parents were so mad. Adrian and I ran away for a bit. While we left, we found out that we were in love with each oyhr. So we started dating. Now we dated for a couple of weeks until some jealous girl drugged him and tried to get him to sleep with her. Now I caught them and I went home and took a shit load of pills." I said.

"And you know the rest," I said.

"I'm so sorry that happened to you. But that doesn't explain why you were upset with him." Noah said.

" Just seeing him made me think of everything that happened between me and him. I thought I was over it, but seeing him made me relieve everyone moment." I said.

Noah hugged me.

"We can leave if you want," Noah said.

"No, I want to stay. I need to get past this." I said.

Noah nodded.

"Come on, let's get some sleep. Tomorrow is Christmas eve and you need your sleep." Noah said.

THE NEXT MORNING

I awoke to the smell of bacon. My mother doesn't cook, so I wonder who that is cooking.

I got up and Noah was still asleep.

I walk downstairs and see Adrian in the kitchen along with his girlfriend.

"Hey, Adrian," I said.

"Can we talk? I mean later on today." Adrian asked.

I nodded.

"We do have a lot to talk about," I said taking a seat next to him.

"That we do." He said.

"Here is your food." Adrian's girlfriend said as she put a plate in front of him.

"Thanks," Adrian said and Adrian's girlfriend kissed his cheek.

"So who are you? I know you are his girlfriend." I said.

"Ariana." She said.

"How long have you guys been dating for?" I asked.

"3 weeks," she said.

I let out a small chuckle.

Adrian looked over to me and raised an eyebrow.

"What?" Ariana asked.

"Nothing. I just think it's funny how after 3 weeks, he tells you everything." I said.

"I didn't tell her everything," Adrian said.

"Did you tell her about Logan?" I asked him.

I hope he didn't.

"No, I would never tell anybody that. I don't mean it in a bad way, Melissa. But I know you don't like talking about it. Nor do I want my girlfriends to pity me for that." Adrian said.

"Thanks," I said taking a sip of the coffee I had grabbed.

"Who's Logan?" Ariana asked.

"It's nothing to worry about," Adrian said.

"Yeah, it doesn't really involve you," I said and Ariana gave me the death stare.

"Are you going shopping with us today?" I asked Ariana.

"I wasn't told about it," she said.

"Well, I guess my mom just wanted me to go. Adrian, did she tell you about it?" I asked him.

"Yeah," he said.

"Hey Honey." my mom said walking into the kitchen.

"Mom, who is going shopping?"I asked her.

"Just you and Adrian. I planned for me to go as well. But I have to plan for your jackass of a father and Becka to come." my mom said.

"That's fine. Just make a list of things." I said getting up.

"Adrian, meet me in the living room in an hour," I said and he nodded.

Great, a full day with Adrian.

I rolled my eyes as I made my way up the stairs.
