Chapter 37

2 WEEKS LATER

"God women just shut up!" I heard my father yell from downstairs. Don't worry, this isn't new. Them yelling has been going on since the day I came back. Every one and a while it gets worse. Some times he throws something. But he hasn't hit my mother. And I don't expect him to.

I haven't figured out what happened to them yet. But I do intend to find out, and now.

"You know what? I'm so sick and tired of your nagging. I'm leaving for a couple of hours." My father said and I then I heard the front door slam. Time to talk to my mother.

"Mom," I said walking into her office.

"Hey, honey. I'm sorry about your father. He's just been in a bad mood these last few days." She said

"Mom, what's going on between you two?" I asked her.

"Nothing honey. I promise nothing is going on," she said.

"Mom, don't lie to me. If something is going on, I need to know." I said.

"Fine. Let's talk." My mom said. She took a seat behind her desk and I took a seat across from her.

"I did something really bad while you were gone. I was so sad and depressed, and at that time your father resented me for saying those things to you. So we weren't really speaking to each other. So I went out with Carren, my old high school friend. We went drinking. I didn't know what I was doing Melissa. I ended up cheating on your father. He somehow found out." my mother said.

She cheated on my father???!

"How could you?!" I yelled.

"I don't know Melissa. I can only say it was a mistake. I truly love your father. I never meant for him to find out either." She said.

"How did he find out?" I asked her.

"The guy I slept with, found my phone. And since I never seem to lock it, he got in and called my emergency contact, which is your father. And the stupid guy explained everything that happened lats night. And according to your father, it was in great detail." My mom said and chuckled at the last part.

"You think this is funny?! You had sex with another guy!" I yelled.

"Please don't yell at me Melissa, I made a simple mistake. Which I will have to live with for the rest of my life. I would never truly do that to your father. I hope you know that." my mom said.

"I know that mom. But you still shouldn't have even gone out. You made a mistake that I can't seem to forgive right now. I think you and dad need to take a break." I said.

"I know." my mom said.

"Do you though?" I asked her.

"I can't do this mom. I can't stay in the house with a cheater. I am going to go stay with Adrian for a bit, I will come home every day to get new clothes." I said standing up.

"Please don't leave Melissa. Your father already left me, I don't think if I can deal with you leaving me too." my mom said.

"Well sucks for you," I said leaving the room.

I quickly ran upstairs and headed into my room. I grabbed my phone and called Adrian.

"Melissa? Is everything g okay?" Adrian asked as soon as he picked up.

"Can I stay with you?" I managed to ask Adrian between sniffles.

"Yeah, what's wrong?" He asked me.

"My mom cheated on my dad, and I can't stay here. I just neesomeplacece to stay." I said.

"Yeah come over. Do you want me to come to get you?" he asked me.

"No, it's fine. I'll be over in a few minutes." I said.

I quickly hung up and grabbed some clothes. I know I told my mom that I would see her tomorrow, but I don't even know if I can come back here at the moment. My parents have been married for 22 years! How could she do that?

As I finished packing up I ran downstairs hoping not to run into my mother. Luckily she was still in her office.

I walked down the street and over to Adrian's house. I knocked on the door and a girl with blonde hair opened the door.

"Hello, can I help you?" she asked me.

Her voice was very thin. And she dressed like some dime store hooker.

"I'm here for Adrian," I said.

"Oh. Well, he isn't here at the moment." The girl said.

What the hell? He just told me I could come over.

"Are you sure?" I asked him.

"Pretty sure." She said.

"Who are you?" I asked him.

"I'm Allison," she said.

"Who's at the door?" Adrian called out.

"Nobody Adrian!" Allison called back.

"Move," I said annoyed.

Fucking bitch is lying! Who the fuck does she think she is!?

"Adrian! Tell this bitch to move!" I yelled.

"Melissa?" Adrian said walking up to us.

"Bitch?! Who are you calling a bitch? I mean look at your makeup! It's clearly running down your face." Allison said.

"Shut up Allison," Adrian said moving past her and hugging me.

"I'm sorry about your parents Melissa," Adrian said.

"I don't know what to do," I said.

"Come on, let's go up to my room." Adrian said.

"Adrian, who is she?" Allison said.

"My girlfriend," Adrian said.

"Oh, sorry." She said to me.

"Whatever," I said walking up to my room.

"Who is she?" I asked Adrian.

"She's my parent's friends daughter. My parents are at dinner right now, she they told her parents that she could hang out with me. But when I got your call, I wanted to spend time with you." Adrian said.

I didn't like that girl at all. I don't trust her. She was very beautiful. She could get whoever she wanted. Including Adrian.
