The original singer Dai Quan's free and easy interpretation of " Wukong " made the song popular with his high-pitched voice. He sang about the changes in Sun Wukong's state of mind and summarized the life of the Great Sage, Heaven's Equal in less than three minutes. The lyrics were beautiful and concise. The song combined opera elements with modern pop music instruments. The harmony was full and unconventional. There was no repetition in the arrangement. There was less orchestration from the prelude to the first verse. After the second emotional outburst, the instruments played together and the ending slowly fell. It pushed the emotions to the highest point and then relaxed, making the audience's hearing less tired. The melody of the composer's composition was also catchy. However, different people had different feelings about different singers singing " Wukong." For example, Fatty Shen Yang sang it very well, and some people had different rankings in their hearts for " Wukong " sung by Huo Zun, Zhang Qi, and Xiaobai. So it was difficult to determine who sang the best. It depended on one's musical preferences.
