Fleeting Love, True Encounter
In the third spring of my relationship with my childhood sweetheart, Shane Sinclair, we arrived in Aethelburg.
Shane Sinclair held my hand.
“Cece,” those handsome, amorous eyes looked exceptionally affectionate in the night.
“Is a scene like this suitable for a proposal?”
My heart stopped in that instant.
The Iron Tower, the Serene River, springtime in Aethelburg, our clasped hands—it was all as perfect as a scene from a movie.
I opened my mouth, joy almost spilling from my throat.
I wanted to say, “I will.”
I wanted to say, “I’ve waited so long for this moment.”
But before the words could leave my lips, Shane Sinclair had already leaned in intimately to my ear.
“I think a place like this would be perfect for proposing to Tanya Gable.”
The world fell silent at that moment.
All I could hear was his flippant remark:
“You should get together with my older brother. That way, Tanya Gable will marry me.”
