Sau đó, cậu gặp Từ Trạch Tiến - tên tội phạm truy nã mà Liên Minh Pokemon hiện đang truy đuổi và suýt mất mạng dưới tay hắn. Trong cuộc thi Xé Bảng Tên Pokemon, để bảo vệ chị gái Lâm Lam, Lâm Châu đã liều mình hạ gục hắn.
