On Christmas Eve, the whole family was heading to the family estate in the Catskill Mountains for the annual Christmas dinner. My younger brother, Angelo, was throwing a tantrum over a hot dog, so Mom sent my older sister, Bianca, and me into the gas station convenience store to get him one—anything to keep him quiet. But when I walked out with the scalding coffee, I was just in time to see our custom, bulletproof Cadillac Escalade glide onto the highway entrance ramp. The blizzard swallowed everything, the air sharp as a blade. And I, Cora Caruso, the daughter of Don Rocco Caruso, the most insignificant asset in my parents' vast empire, was left behind. I chased after the taillights, the heat of the spilling coffee on my hand going completely unnoticed. My screams were torn to shreds by the wind. "Papa! Mamma!" But that black steel beast, carrying my entire world, merged into the interstate traffic without a hint of hesitation and vanished at the end of the snow-swept horizon.

Survive. That is all you can do in the Blank. Don't try helping others. Don't try fighting back. Don't try resting. In the Blank, monsters roam the land. In the Blank, people who either are afraid or hesitate to act die. In the Blank, your only sense of comfort is yourself. Do not trust others. “Let the foul rot in a land of confusion. Let the blessed tricked find peace in the land of fout. Let the wicked dragged with the blessed face a fate worse than the blessed. Let the foul, the bless, the wicked, and the silent be lost forever in the land of confusion.” (Bit of a heads up, the novel will have first person and third person views)

This is a story during the Viking era (around 793 AD) where a young warrior must face his fears and hardships to become the most capable warrior that have ever lived. With the help of his brother and many others, will he become the warrior he is destined to be?

Tucked away at the edge of town, past the old railroad tracks and where the streetlights stop working, there’s a run-down gas station that’s open all day, every day. It looks like any other forgotten gas station in the middle of nowhere—with dusty shelves, strange snacks, broken lights, and a creepy smell that never goes away. But this place is anything but normal. Strange things happen here. There’s a gang of weird, possibly mutated raccoons living in the crawlspace—led by Rocco, a huge raccoon who likes to chew on car tires. There’s also a mysterious man known as the bathroom cowboy, who sometimes appears in the restroom, handing out balloon animals or singing songs that give people strange feelings of peace. The only full-time worker is the narrator, who spends most of their time behind the counter, dealing with broken equipment, strange smells, and even stranger customers. From a drunk who says he insulted the devil, to an old lady who insists her never-seen children were taken during a storm, to a farmer whose animals grew human faces—everyone around here has a bizarre story. Whether it’s the eerie silence of the woods downhill, the strange folks who wander in from the forest, or the way things just seem… off—this gas station is more than just a place to fuel up. It’s a mystery, a warning, and a strange little world of its own. If you ever stop by, be careful. The weirdness might follow you home
