vitalis radix

Science. Horror. Magic. A world where the laws of physics can be rewritten — if you survive the backlash. Arion was a young scientist chasing his mother’s dying dream. Exhaustion killed him before failure did. When the lights went out, they didn’t stay out — he woke in a new body, beneath an alien sky, where energy itself breathes both life and destruction. Arion wanted peace and quiet. Instead, he found a world bound by strange forces — the locals call “Essence,” a living force that bends the laws of nature… and bites back when one does not respect it. With no gods, no manuals, and no mercy, he begins again. But he isn’t alone. Unfortunately, he’s stuck with a ragtag band of misfits, outcasts and walking red flags who bring disaster wherever they walk. Where others see magic, he sees systems to dissect — thermodynamics, phase change, electromagnetism, all rewritten by will and risk. With knowledge as his edge — and science his weapon. Each discovery bends the world’s rules. Each experiment rewrites what he thought was possible. Each new day proves the equilibrium is never in his favour.

In the beginning there was nothing. Nothing was the beginning and end. After several eternities of nothingness, a spark of energy was formed from the nothingness. After several more eternities, that spark of energy grew and grew to encompass everything. Now there was no longer nothing, there was only the origin energy. At some point the origin energy began to mutate and the mutation resulted in an infinitely large explosion. From within this explosion, the myriad domains were created. Each domain contained an uncountable number of universes, and within each universe there were countless galaxies, and within those galaxies there were countless stars and planets. Radix was an embodiment of the origin energy. The beginning and end of everything. ====== This will be a bit of a different type of novel, in that I'll try to use accurate nomenclature when possible, but there will be a glossary if you don't feel like Googling and learning new things!

No clue what it's about. I make up the story as I go, so I'm not sure how even the next chapter will be. I'm just pushing my own limits. Might write an actual synopsis once i get a grasp. I think I'll just write at my own pace, if I rush it things won't turn out well.

(undergoing rewrite) Yuliang Davos is an omega with a lot on his plate; completing his internship, working part-time, studying for his Healer Certification exam, keeping his twin in check, and suppressing his transformations. He has no time for friends, fun, adventure, or romance. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't have a choice. _____________________________________________________ [Warnings]: This story covers some heavy topics and includes characters and actions of dubious morality. The chapters are short because my attention span is limited, and I can't write 1k words in one sitting. I don't think it's a big issue, though, since the story will be a really long one either way, just in bite sizes. Unbeta'ed T_T because I have no friends, but the errors should be minimal. _____________________________________________________ It may take a while for the main romance to unravel, but I promise that it will be worth the wait in the end.
