The Guilt Eater

The Guilt Eater

THE GUILT EATER Volume 2: The Weight of Others VOLUME 1 RECAP — What You Missed Eighty years ago, the Severance broke reality. Overnight, morality became physical. Guilt and virtue stopped being feelings and started being currency. Black Marks crawled across the skin of sinners. Golden brands burned into Saints. Memories could be ripped from your skull and sold as crystallized Shards. And the people who figured out how to control that system? They built empires on top of everyone else's suffering. That's the world Jiko woke up in with no past, no Marks, and no guilt. Not metaphorically. Literally. He cannot feel guilt. Cannot feel shame. His skin is clean where everyone else is stained, and the mechanisms that make moral weight stick to a person simply do not exist in him. He was made this way — surgically, deliberately, by an old man called the Cartographer who spent thirty years looking for a body that could carry the sins of others without breaking. Jiko is that body. A void in human shape. A man who can absorb infinite guilt and feel absolutely nothing. Volume 1 followed him from the ruins of a caravan through the guilt-markets of Ember's Rest, into the Iron Testimony's fortress, across the Wound's edge, through the Archive of Selves — and finally to the smoking aftermath of the Battle of Memory Den, where he stood over three dead Saints and seventy-three dead civilians who'd believed in something enough to die for it. The revolution wasn't supposed to happen this fast. He wasn't supposed to lead it at all. But here we are. VOLUME 2 BEGINS — The Weight of Others The battle is won. The war is just starting. And Jiko has no idea how to run a revolution. Volume 2 picks up in the ash of the first victory, and it does not let you breathe. The Choir Sanctum, the theocratic empire that hoards virtue and sells it back to the desperate, is mobilizing everything it has. The Iron Testimony, the military regime that weaponizes guilt to fuel its soldiers, is fracturing from the inside, some defecting to the revolution, others hunting it with renewed fury. And somewhere out in the Wastes, every carrier who heard what happened at the Memory Den is already walking toward Jiko with their Marks showing and their hands open. They've all heard the same story. The man who can eat your guilt. The man the Saints can't touch. The man who stood at the center of a psychic shockwave and absorbed it all and didn't die. He's becoming a symbol. He hates it. Here's what Volume 2 is actually about: It's about what happens after the miracle. After the impossible victory. After the moment where the underdog defies all odds and everyone cheers — and then the sun rises on the next day, and there are still a thousand problems, and people are still dying, and nobody has a plan beyond "we won yesterday." Jiko has to figure out how to teach people something he never learned: how to carry their conscience without being crushed by it. How to use guilt as information instead of identity. How to build a movement out of a collection of desperate, broken individuals who chose a revolution because every other option was worse.

Gates Guilt: Resurrection

Gates Guilt: Resurrection

The era of the sun is a dead memory. Humanity's sprawling kingdoms have fallen, and the last remnants of civilization are buried alive. Trapped within a decaying, subterranean iron bunker known as the Sanctuary, the few survivors of an apocalyptic extinction cling to a grim existence. Outside the walls lies an unforgiving abyss of monsters and black miasma; inside, the reality is just as terrifying. Under the iron-fisted rule of Chief Murad Xie, the Sanctuary survives through a horrifying arithmetic. Compassion is a forgotten language, and the weak are literally consumed to keep the strong alive. Eleven-year-old Akira and his mother, Syuri, are the last sparks of hope in this sterile tomb. While the rest of humanity has surrendered to the ruthless, blood-soaked laws of their cage, Syuri preaches of a forgotten world above—a place of blue skies and green earth. Her dreams earn her the title of a madwoman from the starving crowds, but Akira fiercely protects his innocence, clinging to her teachings in a society that demands cruelty. But innocence is a death sentence at the end of the world. As resources run dry and the shadow of starvation threatens to snap the Sanctuary's fragile peace, an elite soldier named Klein takes Akira under his wing. Knowing the brutal truth of their decaying sanctuary, Klein drags the boy into the pitch-black outskirts of the gates. Through agonizing, bone-breaking training, he seeks to strip away the boy's naive hopes and forge him into a weapon capable of surviving the nightmare to come. As the last embers of human civilization threaten to burn out forever, Akira stands at a crossroads. He must decide whether to surrender to the savage reality of humanity's final cage, or bleed to prove that his mother’s beautiful world still exists in the dark.

Flicker Explanation
Flashing was a Chinese word, and its Pinyin was shānshu. It meant that the light was flickering, flickering, or that one was speaking with a hint of thought but not saying it clearly. Flicker novel
The Flicker was a book published in 2020 by [US] Tedder Kosmatka. The novel was based on the classic physics thought experiment, the double-slit experiment. Eric, the experimenter, tried to use the experiment to test whether animals had the ability to observe (that is, whether they had thoughts). After the experiment was announced, the church wanted to use it to verify whether the unborn fetus had thoughts, but the experiment was flawed. Eric soon discovered that the truth was not simply "yes" and "no", and this unexpected truth brought him a fatal disaster. The book was rated as a fast-paced horror novel. It was full of carefully arranged suspense, turning the double-slit experiment into a surprising and philosophical narrative. It was called a science fiction horror novel that could bring a five-star reading experience by The New York Times.

It could be compared to a montage in film, where different elements are quickly presented one after another to build an overall impression or story. For example, the plot might jump from one significant moment to another without much in - between filler, making it a very dynamic reading experience.

There is a flicker on the camera screen
When the camera screen flashes, it can be solved from the following aspects: 1. ** Photographic Equipment Setting ** - For shooting on a LCD TV or a LCD monitor, since the frame number is 50, you can set the frame number of the mobile phone camera to 25 or 50 frames to eliminate flicker. - By adjusting the shutter speed and frame rate of the camera, setting the shutter speed and the screen refresh rate simultaneously could reduce the strobing effect. At the same time, choosing the appropriate frame rate could also avoid the strobing phenomenon. For example, when taking photos or videos indoors in China, if the lights flashed (because the working frequency of the lights and the frame rate of the camera shutter did not match), you could enter the menu to find the video format, select the Polar format, and then set the shutter speed to 1/50 second to eliminate the flicker. 2. ** Using a filter ** - Neutral density (ND) filter can be used to reduce the light entering the camera, reducing the impact of the reflection of the large screen on the image, thereby reducing the stroboscopic effect. 3. ** In terms of adjusting the image parameters ** - The exposure and white balance parameters were adjusted according to the scene conditions, and the brightness of the picture was evenly distributed and the color reproduction was normal during the shooting process. 4. ** Post-processing ** - When Media Processing Service in a post-editing software (such as Da Vinci), you can try to remove/reduce video noise, increase brightness, contrast, and other functions to improve the picture quality. You can also adjust the blur and horizontal and vertical ratio. Read more exciting novels for free

Guilt is not love
He recommended " The Mysteries: The Mistakes of Achievement Begin with the Substitute of the Main Character." Luo Su had transmigrated to " The Lord of the Mysteries " to replace the main character. He had been stubborn, but he had gotten what he wanted. In order to avoid the tragic ending of the original novel, he embarked on the path of becoming a god. The protagonist took the wrong path to become a god and competed with Amon. There were many characters in the book. " I let you heal your teammates, but you're soloing an SSS dungeon?" Li Baiheng's Priest characteristics had mutated. He wasn't good at regular support skills, but he had reconstructed ordinary skills into legendary skills. It was very interesting to confess to his teammates before entering the Abyss. In The Virtuous Wife Is Poisonous, the female protagonist abandoned her wife and was reborn. She did not seek revenge but only wanted to stay away from her, but in the end, fate played a trick on her. The story had a touch of sadness and the transformation after rebirth. Ryo Ashiya of " I Become a God by Placing in Tokyo " relied on the placement system to become stronger in Tokyo. It was similar to the check-in flow and was more detailed. Although it had its shortcomings, the style of writing was desirable. " The Heart of Forgiveness " was a slow-moving ancient romance, telling the story of love and growth, hurt and forgiveness. Read more exciting novels for free
