Song of Everlasting Sorrow described the love tragedy between Li Longji, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, and Yang Yuhuan, the imperial concubine of the Tang Dynasty. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty liked beauty. Yang Yuhuan was favored by Emperor Xuanzong after being chosen by Emperor Xuanzong. Emperor Xuanzong also neglected the government because of this. An Lushan rebelled. On the way to escape, Xuanzong was forced by the pressure of the ministers to kill Yang Yuhuan. After that, Xuanzong often missed Yang Yuhuan and could not sleep. There was a Taoist priest in Linqiong who was deeply moved by Xuanzong's love. He searched for the soul of Yuhuan for him. Finally, he found the Taizhen Fairy (namely Yuhuan) of the Immortal Mountain on the Sea. The fairy heard the news of Xuanzong and was both sad and happy. She brought the token to Xuanzong. Although the two of them were deeply in love, they were separated from each other forever. They could only send their love with things. This regret was endless. In the first half of the poem, Xuanzong's debauchery was exposed, but the whole poem embellished the story of Li and Yang into a sincere love with sympathy. The whole poem combined scenery description, lyricism and narration, which had a very high artistic achievement. The novel "Song of Everlasting Sorrow: Morning and Evening" is equally exciting.
