Love, Lies and Unfiltered Hearts

Love, Lies and Unfiltered Hearts

Seventeen-year-old Josie Brennan survives Lakebridge High by staying invisible. Between her mother’s addiction, financial struggles, and relentless bullying, her only escape is Unfiltered, an anonymous blog followed by thousands who never know the girl behind it. Everything changes when she becomes entangled with two captains. Drew Callahan, the school’s star quarterback and hockey captain, has loved Josie in silence for years. But protecting his fractured family and reputation means staying quiet while others tear her down. Maxwell Thorne, Blackbridge’s elite hockey captain, offers her a deal: a fake relationship for protection and convenience. No feelings. No complications. Just survival. But survival never stays simple. A public kiss, a humiliating rivalry, and a dangerous arrangement pull Josie into a storm of attention and consequences. As secrets from Unfiltered surface, friendships fracture, and hidden histories of betrayal come to light, exposing how deeply their lives have always been connected. Years later, Josie is forced to face both men again, now changed by time, power, and loss. One represents stability and loyalty. The other represents a love that never truly disappeared. With a child, a contract marriage, and buried truths colliding, Josie must choose between the man who stayed when she broke… and the man who never stopped loving her in silence. Two captains loved her. Only one stayed when she broke. And from the wreckage of everything that came before, something real finally had room to grow.

Advice for WN Authors

Advice for WN Authors

Aight bois. This is coming from an author and a reader: most of y'all's writing sucks. Readers shouldn't have to turn their brains off to enjoy your writing... That's just forcing them to be a zombie and mindlessly passing time by, ain't no enjoyment there. So in case you couldn't tell already, this will be very blunt. Thus, here's some things to keep in mind as you read. 1. If you're just going to hear and not listen, skedaddle. Hearing is having it go through one ear and out the other, listening is paying attention and making the effort to understand. 2. Toss your pride away. Yeet it across the ocean. I've seen sooo many authors unable to take constructive criticism and INSIST on improper grammar because they couldn't admit they did something wrong. 3. If you think your writing is good, then it's terrible. Simple. Reason: If you think your writing is good, then you stop looking for ways to improve it and it stagnates. Even the best of the best authors (on wn and traditional books) have room for improvement so don't be like "ah it's good enough" or "there's no where else to improve." 4. Don't listen aggressively. I.e. listening only to find faults in what the person says and use it disprove their claim. One example is waiting for your opponent to make a grammar mistake.  This is different from debate tactics to lead your opponent into logical trap and use their fallacies they accidentally left behind to invalidate everything they said. It's hard to notice, but the main difference is that someone who listens aggressively is no longer open minded or calm. They're usually narrow minded and stubborn to admit they're wrong in those moments and are very easy to manipulate bc they're blinded so ye. Did I leave some traps within the logic presented here? Maybe. Don't be an idiot and you won't have to find out. Side note: apologies if this boi comes off as ranting, bc it is. The average wn quality is on par with mtl childrens books, which is infuriating bc now there's hardly anything good left to read.

What are unfiltered stories?
Unfiltered stories can be a variety of things. For example, in journalism, it could be stories that report events exactly as they occurred, without adding any bias or spin. In personal storytelling, it might be someone sharing their true feelings and experiences without holding back, whether it's about a difficult time in their life, a great adventure, or a simple everyday encounter. They give us a more genuine look into different aspects of life compared to stories that have been polished or filtered for a particular audience.

How can one find unfiltered stories?
Finding unfiltered stories can be a bit of a search. First, consider underground or independent literature. Small - press books or self - published works sometimes contain unfiltered stories that might not make it through the filters of big publishers. Then, there are certain online forums dedicated to specific topics, like personal growth or social issues. People there often share their unfiltered stories about their struggles and successes. Another place could be in the form of diaries or memoirs that are published as they were written, without much editing to make them more 'palatable'. These can give you a real insight into someone's unfiltered life story.

Top advice
Top advice referred to valuable advice and experience from top experts, investors, psychological advisors, and other fields. We can find some examples of top-notch advice. For example, Charlie Munger, one of the world's top investors, gave 110 pieces of advice on business, investment, and cognition. In addition, there was also a book called " Failure in Counseling: Advising from a Top Psychiatrist ", which collected the suggestions and experiences of some top Psychiatrists. However, due to the limitations of the search results, we are unable to provide more specific top-level advice.
