The story is set on an alternateworld "Blue Star," where humans and monstrous beasts coexist in conflict. Monsters rampage across the land, devouring humans, while select individuals awaken "Monstrous Powers" to transform into hybrid beast forms for combat. The world features powerful weapons like Sequential Arms (selfaware weapons that choose masters) and Forbidden Arms (e.g., the cursed "Spear of Longinus"), as well as a monster hierarchy ranked as Purple Jade, Gold, and higher tiers. Human factions—including the Yanxia Federation, Sacred Corps, and military branches—struggle against both external monster threats and internal conspiracies.
