# PESSIMISTIC SESSION ## Series Synopsis In a parallel modern world, eight souls navigate love, heartbreak, ambition, and the uncertainty of growing up. Johnny Teller tries to hold on to his optimism while searching for love. Aquilar Daniella Smith questions whether hope is worth trusting. Ak “Shooter” Smith finds escape in gaming, while Ntsane Rock Qatari turns everyday observations into poetry. As their lives intersect through school, work, friendships, romance, and unexpected encounters, strange events begin to reveal that Meridian City holds secrets far beyond what its residents understand. Blending mystery, psychological suspense, urban fantasy, and slice-of-life storytelling, *Pessimistic Session* explores imperfect people learning to live with failure, uncertainty, and change. Sometimes, the smallest moments leave the deepest marks. ## Volume 2 Synopsis Meridian City has always measured time through rain, but something is wrong. Names disappear from records, familiar passengers repeat their journeys, and memories no longer seem reliable. What begins as a series of strange inconsistencies leads to Observation Cluster 14, the archive beneath Unit 17, and a reservoir containing fragments of erased memories. The investigation uncovers the Original Event and the truth behind Dorian Kessler, a placeholder identity created to absorb contradictions the city's hidden system could not resolve. For decades, that system has rewritten records, manipulated memory, and redirected rain to preserve stability at the cost of truth. As the system begins to awaken, the characters must question what it means to be remembered—and whether order is worth the lives and experiences sacrificed to maintain it. When forgotten kindnesses and ordinary lives begin returning, Meridian City faces a truth it can no longer ignore: **memory belongs to people, not systems.** ## Volume 3 Synopsis: Everlasting Moments Life in Meridian City continues after the mysteries and upheavals of the past. Buses still run, cafés open their doors, people finish exhausting shifts, and ordinary lives move forward. *Everlasting Moments* steps away from the central mystery to explore the smaller stories that make the city feel alive. A widow writes one last letter to her husband. A street musician remembers his father. Three strangers share a dream, while a poet looks back through years of notebooks, wondering which moments deserve to be preserved. Through music, friendship, grief, humour, and unexpected kindness, familiar characters reflect on how much they have changed and how much of life remains uncertain. As years pass, buildings change, people grow older, and memories fade. Yet traces of the past survive in songs, conversations, and the little things people do for one another. Not every story needs a grand ending. Sometimes, an ordinary moment becomes unforgettable simply because someone carries it forward. ## Tags **Series:** #Mystery #PsychologicalSuspense #UrbanFantasy #SystemicHorror #SliceOfLife #RealisticFiction #Romance #Drama #SchoolLife #Poetry #LoveHate #ModernParallelWorld #Growth #Failure #Hope #Contemporary #MaleProtagonist #CoFemaleProtagonist #Urban **Volume 2:** #Mystery #PsychologicalSuspense #SystemicHorror #Memory #Identity #Conspiracy #UrbanFantasy **Volume 3:** #SliceOfLife #Friendship #Family #PersonalGrowth #EverydayLife #Poetry #EverlastingMoments ## Central Moral Life isn't about succeeding at everything. It's about trying, failing, learning, and finding beauty in the attempt. We may not remember every detail or achieve everything we hoped for, but the kindness we share and the moments we carry can leave a lasting mark.

Each student has a picture and had to write about it

All the main characters are male leads and this is just for me to practice free writing in case school tells us to write a short later on and I suck at writing so I'm trying to improve.

On the occasion of taking a family photo at our daughter's birthday party, Darling's high school classmate Hendrik leaned over me and kissed my Darling on the corner of her mouth. I was visibly angry, but Darling mocked me for being petty. "It's just a normal cheek kiss greeting, why are you so worked up?" Hendrik also looked at me with disdain, turning to criticize Darling, "Your status isn't what it used to be, huh? Even a live-in son-in-law dares to give you attitude." My daughter, whom I was holding in my arms, tried to please Hendrik by grabbing his hand, "Uncle, I want you to be my daddy." The photographer even went ahead and took a happy group photo of the three of them. I clenched my fists and brought up the idea of divorce. Unexpectedly, Darling immediately pulled out a divorce agreement, "I've been waiting for you to say that. Hurry up and sign it, you're leaving with nothing!" I calmly signed and dialed my Father-in-law's number, "From now on, anything concerning Ashford Manor has absolutely nothing to do with me!"

Having just married Percival Slater, I turned around and immediately saw his wedding photos with his college junior, Willow Morgan displayed on the street. I demanded an explanation from him, only to be scolded for stirring up unnecessary trouble. “I’ve already married you, why can’t you just be content?” he snapped. Willow called to taunt me. “So what if you have him physically, his heart will always be mine.” In the past, I would have cried and begged Percival to draw a clear line between himself and Willow. But now, I simply smiled and offered my blessings. “May you both grow old together.”
