Skates, also known as roller skates, originated in the Netherlands and were a tool that could be used in competitions and leisure life. Its origin was interesting. As early as 1100, hunters put bones under long leather shoes to hunt in winter, becoming the earliest style of ice skates. In 1760, the London musical instrument manufacturer Jossef Marin invented a pair of skates with small metal wheels. He wore these shoes to attend masquerade parties and played the violin. Although he fell down, he created a precedent for roller skates. In 1819, Mansil Pettibo invented a pair of skates with wooden soles and wheels lined up below. However, due to the different sizes of the wheels, they could only slide forward. In 1863, an American named James invented the four-wheel skates with side-by-side wheels. They could do a variety of movements and were widely spread. In 1884, Richardson of the United States equipped roller skates with ball bearings, and the roller skating movement was further developed. In the same year, the United Kingdom held the first national roller skating championship. At the beginning of the 20th century, roller skating was widely carried out in the United States and Europe. Modern roller skating was divided into speed skating, figure skating, and roller ball. In terms of buying ice skates, if children have zero foundation to learn roller skating, it is recommended to buy entry-level smooth shoes. Parents should remove bananas and use flat wheels instead. If considering the purchase of speed skates (speed skates), it is recommended to have a certain foundation first, because the speed skates are small, the knife holder is long, and there is only one buckle. The ankle strength requirement is higher, and the entry-level speed skates are more expensive than the entry-level smooth shoes. In addition, don't buy toy shoes. Their quality is not up to standard, which may lead to habitual mistakes in movements. While watching the Olympics, you can also read the wonderful novels related to the Olympics!
