The little white dragon was the son of Ao Run, the Dragon King of the West Sea. His name was Ao Lie. The Jade Emperor rewarded the Dragon King of the West Sea with a luminous pearl. It happened that the little white dragon was about to get married. When he got married, he found that his newlywed wife was having an ambiguous relationship with someone else. In a fit of anger (or perhaps accidentally), he burned the luminous pearl. The Dragon King of the West Sea knew that this matter could not be hidden, so he took the opportunity when Guan Yin Bodhisattva was recruiting people to take the scriptures to report his son to the Jade Emperor. The little white dragon thus violated the heavenly law and committed a capital crime. When he was about to be executed, he was saved by Guan Yin Bodhisattva and was enlightened to wait for Tang Sanzang at Yingchou Stream to escort him to the west. Guan Yin Bodhisattva turned the little white dragon into a white horse, becoming the mount of Tang Sanzang. However, there were also people who believed that the little white dragon was not the biological son of the West Sea Dragon King, but the son of the Guangjin Dragon King. He claimed to be the Third Prince of the West Sea Dragon King, but no one knew his real name. No one in the family seemed to care about his life or death. During the journey to obtain the scriptures, the West Sea Dragon King and his family interacted with the group many times, but they did not show any concern for the little white dragon. When the little white dragon was in Baoxiang Kingdom, he had once transformed into a palace maid and fought with demons. However, he had to persuade Zhu Bajie to go to Huaguo Mountain and ask Sun Wukong to come back. After the success of the sutra, the little white dragon was promoted to the Eight-Part Heavenly Dragon Guangli Bodhisattva by the Tathagata Buddha. Later, he recovered his body in the Dragon Transformation Pool and coiled around the pillar of the Great Thunderclap Temple. The novel "White Dragon of the Dragon Clan" is equally exciting.
