Crafting First Paragraph of Novel: Tips and Examples
When writing the first paragraph of a novel, it's crucial to make it engaging. One way to do this is to start with a strong voice. Let's say your novel is about a young girl's journey. You could start with, 'I never thought my life would change so drastically in just one day. That morning, when I woke up, I had no idea that by nightfall, I would be on a train to a place I'd only heard of in stories.' This shows the character's perspective right away and draws the reader in as they wonder what happened to cause such a big change.
