The middle stage (1975 - 1980): It mainly tells the story of the educated youth gradually adapting to rural life and getting along well with the local farmers, and some heroes and touching stories emerged. The works of this period gradually turned to the discussion of human nature, social reality and historical background. 3. The later stage (1980 - 1985): It mainly tells the story of the educated youths gradually returning to the city and beginning to recall and reflect on their lives and experiences in the countryside. The works of this period also began to involve criticism of the political and social systems of the time. 4. Modern Stage (1985-present): It mainly tells the story of the educated youths who returned to urban life after the end of the educated youth literature movement and continued to tell their stories. The works of this period gradually got rid of the discussion of history and politics and paid more attention to personal feelings and storytelling.
