What would you do if one day you were told you were one of the chosen who would have to battle to save the world? Akio was an average guy, having moved to the big city from his humble town in the mountains. Sure, his IT freelancing job wasn't making him big money, and he wasn't exactly a hit with the ladies, but life wasn't all that bad... until one day a mysterious angel-like being visited him to tell him the Earth was in danger. Many would be chosen to fight this fate, but would any succeed? Of course, if one could have the usual cheat skills everything would work out, wouldn't it? So why was his skill like a garbage pay-to-win mobile game? Akio would have to not only hone his skills and build his Astral Empire, but he would need to raise money, secure land and become a player on Earth too! Facing this challenging task alone would surely be impossible, so Akio needs to make strong and beautiful allies to take on all those who would oppose him. Who would that be, you ask? The old myths of Earth are returning, alien invaders are waiting outside on the Astral Tides, Cultivators are looking for their next faces to slap, Demons are whispering poison into the ears of anyone who would listen, and whoever was trying to save Earth by granting various people powers were making some really awful choices... Join Akio as he starts at the bottom of the ladder, clawing his way to the top and discovering one can change their destiny, so long as they work hard (and have a boat-load of money!). [This story is a modern world LitRPG where I try and balance the real world, the other world and various character-development scenarios. The pace can be described as 'measured', as there is a lot of 'slice-of-life' style events to balance 'number-go-up' and Territory capture] What can you expect from this story? MC and side characters who are flawed and make mistakes, but ultimately grow and change, bettering themselves and the world around them. Yes, the MC does start off a bit weak and whiny, but he does get over it as the story progresses. It's a slow burn though. Likewise Harem and romance. it is most definitely harem, though again it's a slow burn and not easy to reach. There are some r18 scenes with them, but these don't happen until a fair way into the story. Real-world consequences of power. I'm trying to explore this slowly, so expect politics down the line. Base-building in both the real and the other world, growing power, money, influence and more. it's a slow burn but a focus. Cultivators, Faeries, Demons, Gods and more, though again, it takes a while for more and more of these to appear.

The Tempest Empire

The Tempest Empire

He thought he knew it all. He thought he knew all about himself, knew how to control himself and what he wanted until this strange woman came crawling into his life, throwing questions he couldn't give answers to. And he wanted to protect her from his father, his dark world, scared she'd get lost in it but Saeria was just an ordinary girl...at least she thought she was until she stepped into the world she never knew was created by her, discovering abilities that that overwhelmed her....secrets that could tear the whole world apart, secrets that could tear them apart.... ——EXCERPT—— . "Why did you take the picture down?" Saeria asked, moving away from him. "I want to replace it. I don't really like people lecherously gawking at what's mine". He took a step closer, his eyes swimming up and down her naked body covered with a little piece of clothing. She was supposed to be used to his impromptu barging by now. "Okay but can we talk later? I want to..." She drew her finger round on her body, demonstrating what she wanted to do. He smirked, picking an apple from the table close to him and tossing it up in the air to catch it in his hand. "I think I'd love to talk now". Saeria swallowed, unsettled by his piercing and intimidating gaze that she was never going to be used to. Before she blinked twice, he had moved the table beside him to stand behind her, preventing her from moving away. He closed up the space between them with a single stride. "Why do you always try to escape from me when you're fully aware that I have you in the palm of my hand?" He whispered huskily behind her ear, caging her with his arms on each sides of her body. "You know I don't like it when you tease me". He bit her earlobe, earning a sharp moan from her. He trailed slow kisses down her neck to her shoulder while Saeria struggled to keep her balance and the piece of clothing close to her chest. She knew when he wanted something and right now, he was just playing with her. He was only showing her how she made him feel each time she toyed with him. Besides, he had a planned meeting that morning and she doubted he was going to forsake that for pleas— "Turn around". She swallowed. "What?" Not having it in him to chat, he spun her around, her clothes dropping as he bent her over the table. He was really not joking around? . *Book cover not mine* Credit belongs to the rightful owner~ *Tyforcheckingin*

Cornell employment
Cornell University's employment situation was affected by many factors. From the enrollment and employment related data, some of its programs such as the MPA enrollment scale was about 100 people. Among the international students, China people accounted for a large proportion, and most of them were from Haiben. In terms of employment results, Cornell University ranked 16th among universities for international students. However, in actual employment, the employment situation was more severe. For example, students who graduated from Cornell University with a master's degree and majored in popular statistics had only received two offers as of October 2024. One was a position for a commissioned student in the Ningbo-based petrifaction plant. The job was relatively stable, but it might be overkill for a statistics major. The other was a mathematics teacher position in a Shanghai study abroad institution. It was challenging for introverted students, and the monthly salary for both jobs was only more than 10,000 yuan. This reflected that despite the high academic background of Cornell University, employment was not easy due to the current economic situation, the fierce competition in the job market, the increasing requirements of companies for talents (not only in terms of academic qualifications, but also in terms of ability, experience, and comprehensive quality), and the rapid development of the industry. While waiting for the TV series, he could also read the exciting content related to this site!
