Aethelgard Online: The Empire That Erases Humanity
In a niche fantasy online game, two teenagers suffering from Chunibyo (Eight-Grade Syndrome) have created something that has driven the entire world insane.
The male and female leads are childhood friends and real-life lovers. One is a physically frail student living a precarious life on instant noodles because every cent he earns is poured into the game. The other is a beautiful, energetic, and extremely dangerous girl… in a very different sense. She is the mastermind behind almost every insane provocation that has ignited global wars across the server.
Unlike those who only "hallucinate their power" in the real world, these two have turned their delusions into a terrifying reality within the game.
They didn't choose to be heroes.
They didn't choose to be warriors of justice.
Instead, they founded an organization called "Humanity Extinction," with a single requirement for joining: You must abandon your human form.
Demons, monsters, malformed creatures, and those hated by the entire world… all gather under their banner. Instead of acting as silent villains like other players, their organization publicly declares war on every race in the game, challenging anyone brave enough to step into the "Dark Lands."
This ridiculously arrogant attitude quickly attracted countless professional gamers from other titles, all eager to be the one to take down this "crazy" organization.
But then, things spiraled out of control.
When retired military generals accidentally joined the game to relive their glory days, they found themselves fascinated by the ruthless, dirty, yet incredibly creative tactics of the gamers. From there, the game gradually transformed into a training ground for the will of actual soldiers.
Because according to them…
Skills can be trained.
But the spirit of "readiness to sacrifice" is the hardest thing to create.
The arrival of the military made the Dark Faction feel a true threat. Large-scale wars began to break out incessantly. Gamers utilized every underhanded trick they could imagine, while the military brought actual warfare into the virtual world.
The digital realm has slowly turned into a real battlefield.
Meanwhile, in the real world…
The "Ruler of Darkness," the "Supreme Being," and the terrifying leader hated by millions of people is actually just two ordinary high school students trying to survive the day on discounted cup noodles.
And every time the female lead lets out a mocking, Chunibyo-fueled dialogue to provoke the entire server…
The male lead can only hold his head in despair, watching the flames of war explode once again.
