TROPHY
After his father dies over a hospital bill the family couldn't pay, Ilya falls into his first trial-dream — the Graveyard, a dark world grown from a city's accumulated grief. There, dead monsters drop Trophies: flesh for the body, power for the fight, memory for the truth. There's just one problem — Ilya's body rejects every piece of flesh he tries to take. The Hunters' Guild writes him off as broken. But every monster he kills wakes something older than the Graveyard itself inside him — something that was already asleep there before he was born. By day, he's just a broke kid with a dead father. By night, he's a vessel for whatever is growing under the city's skin. And the stronger he gets, the less sure he is he'll still be himself by the time he finds out what, exactly, is waking up.
