Wild thicket
In these references, the "wild thicket" was mainly described as a natural scene. For example, in some poems, the wild thicket was related to the emotions and thoughts of the characters. Some people waded through the wild thicket in an attempt to cast away their worries, while others paid attention to the unyielding posture of life in the wild thicket, such as the undefeated green and the small but graceful mountain flowers. In addition,"Huang" existed alone in some fantasy context (such as "Huang Tiandi" related content). Although it did not directly indicate the connection with Huang Cong, it could be inferred that there might be some cultural or story system based on the concept of "Huang". In general, the wild thicket was a natural existence in these materials, and it was also a carrier for poets or creators to express their emotions and thoughts. What is 'the thicket novel' about?
I'm not sure specifically as there could be many novels named something like that. It might be about a thicket, which could involve stories set in a dense growth of bushes or small trees, perhaps with characters exploring it, getting lost in it, or something mysterious hidden within it.

White-leafed single-thicket seedling
White-leaf single-cluster seedlings were used to cultivate white-leaf single-cluster tea seedlings. In Jiexi County, Guangdong Province, Chen Caiming's shop sold white-leaf single-cluster tea seedlings at a price of 1.00 yuan per tree; in Raoping County, Guangdong Province, Zhan Huanbo's shop also sold phoenix single-cluster seedlings at a price of 1.80 yuan per tree. Lingtou white leaf seedlings had been introduced by Tiepu Commune of Chao'an County in the late 1970s, and their varieties and quality characteristics were quickly recognized by tea farmers, and they were widely promoted. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Xingning introduced single-cluster tea species from Raoping, including white-leaf single-cluster tea species, which promoted the development of the local single-cluster tea industry. Drive the fish into the abyss, drive the sparrows into the thicket
Mencius said," Jie and Zhou lost the world because they lost the support of the common people. They lost the support of the common people because they lost the hearts of the people. There is a way to get the world: get the people, you can get the world; There is a way to get the people: get the hearts of the people, you can get the people; There is a way to get the hearts of the people: give them what the people want and accumulate for them. Don't impose on them what the people hate. That's all. The people submitted to benevolence and virtue, just like water flowing to the bottom and beasts running to the wilderness. Therefore, it was the fish-eating otter who brought the fish to the deep pool, the sparrow who brought the birds to the forest, and the Xia Jie and Yin Zhou who brought the common people to the deep pool for King Tang and King Wu of Zhou. Now, if there was a monarch who liked benevolence and virtue in the world, the vassals would drive the people over for him. Even if he didn't want to be king, he couldn't do it. Now, those who wanted to be kings were like a seven-year-old illness that needed to be treated with wormwood that had been stored for three years. If he didn't save up in advance, he wouldn't be able to get it for the rest of his life. If you are not determined to implement benevolent government, you will be sad and humiliated all your life, so that you will fall into the state of death. The Book of Songs says,'How can we do it well? It's just pulling each other to drown.' That's what I mean." The novel " Watching the Moon on Fish Island " is equally exciting. To drive away the fish in the abyss and the sparrows in the thicket
The original meaning of this idiom was that the otter wanted to catch fish to eat, but drove the fish into the abyss; the hawk wanted to catch sparrows to eat, but drove the sparrows into the jungle. Originally, it was an inappropriate metaphor, but the result was counterproductive. Now, it can also be used as a metaphor for not being good at uniting or winning over people, driving the forces that can be relied on to the enemy side. It can also be used as a metaphor for not being good at governing, causing the people to lose their morale and turn to the enemy. Or in a general sense, it can be used to describe a certain idea or measure that is inappropriate, pushing things that are originally beneficial to oneself to the other party, doing good things for the other party, but bringing harm to oneself. In the political context, if the ruler exercised tyranny, it would also make the people turn to the enemy. This situation could also be described by this idiom.
