The Idea Thief
I had worked overtime all night on a proposal, but when I presented it the next day, everyone in the conference room just stared at each other.
The General Manager spoke unhappily, "Your proposal this time is eighty percent similar to Thea Shaw's. This is not the first time."
It was always like this. They were clearly my creative ideas, but Thea Shaw would always submit a similar proposal to the boss before me, only to turn around and accuse me: "Mara, I know I'm a newcomer, but you can't keep plagiarizing my ideas. I know you've run out of creativity, so why don't you just give up the Creative Director position and give me a chance?"
After she finished speaking, she exchanged a knowing smile with my boyfriend, the Marketing Manager.
This time, no matter how foolish I had been, I finally understood what was going on. I sneered and took off my work badge. "Fine. You don't need the General Manager to give you a chance. As the company's largest shareholder, I will appoint you as Creative Director, with full authority over the collaboration with Apex Corp."
I'd like to see just how this copycat is going to be a good director without my ideas.
