Frustration builds; Kitagawa’s rhythm shatters. The scoreboard climbs—25–18, 25–15. Chidoriyama claims victory, and Akira, sweat glistening, simply smiles as if it were just another day. Rumors swirl. A three-time national champion in junior high, courted by elite volleyball powerhouses, Akira shocks everyone by choosing Karasuno—not Shiratorizawa, not Aoba Johsai.
