Love in the Asylum was a comedy film that was released on the Spanish Internet on February 26, 2021. It was directed by Dani de la Alden and starred Alvaro Cervantes and Suzanna Abatuna Gomez. The film tells the story of Adri, the protagonist, who decided to sneak into the mental hospital in order to see Kara again. In terms of genre, it was a romantic comedy. The comedy elements were basically good people in the story, and there were no real " bad people." The love line was that the male protagonist fell in love with the female protagonist at first sight. Then, in order to get close to the female protagonist who was being treated in a mental hospital, he forged a medical record and sneaked into the hospital. After going through difficulties to pursue the female protagonist, the male and female protagonists finally had a relatively happy ending. Although the female protagonist refused the male protagonist's confession due to illness, she later mustered up the courage to confess. The male protagonist would also wait for the female protagonist to be discharged from the hospital. However, there were also some controversial points in the film, such as the plot: the male and female protagonists 'appearance was unstable; The actors' comedy performance was not good; Although the ending was a happy ending, there were many hidden dangers; It was difficult to complete the comedy plot under the intention of de-branding the mentally ill group; The movie portrayed the characters in the mental hospital too beautifully and unrealistically; The plot setting, such as Kara and her friends sneaking out to play, was sloppy. The male protagonist's encouragement to Kara to rely on willpower to overcome the disease did not work; although the two of them communicated with each other, they were still separated by the wall, and the comedy effect was insufficient.
