Please don’t blame the child.” When the director said he’d fire the boy, Mira stopped him right away. “He’s just a kid. Please don’t ruin his day.” The crew was impressed by how kind she was and even clapped. Mira shyly asked them to stop before telling everyone to get ready for the next scene. Once everyone had walked off, Macs lowered his voice. “Are you actually mad?” Mira smiled sweetly. “Not at all.” She nodded toward the boy running around. “Look how cute he is. I’d actually love to spend more time with him.” Under her breath, she muttered, “A very special chat.” Macs caught the dangerous glint hiding behind her smile but didn’t say anything. Just then, the boy’s excited mother hurried over. “I’m your biggest fan! Marry me!” Mira blinked. “My name is Marry,” the woman quickly corrected, laughing awkwardly before proudly talking about her son’s football skills instead of apologizing. Mira politely praised the boy and knelt beside him. “I’ll never marry you,” James declared. “Oh? Why not?” Mira asked, amused. “Because your nose is flat.” For a second, Mira’s smile almost slipped. Instead, she leaned in a little closer. “If you like these goggles so much, I’ve got a bunch more in my room. Want to see them?” James’ eyes lit up. “Really? Mom, can I go?” Macs jumped in right away. “Mira, you don’t have time. Your next scene starts soon, and you’re hurt.” “I’m fine,” Mira said firmly. “I like spending time with kids.” Turning to Marry, she asked sweetly, “Can I take James for a quick walk?” “Of course!” Marry said with a bright smile. Mira paused, still smiling. “Actually... just James.” Though a little disappointed, Marry agreed, mentioning she was heading off to drink her daily orange juice. “You definitely should,” Mira replied politely, the faint sarcasm slipping past everyone except Macs. Mira looked down at the grinning boy. “Well then, James... shall we?” “Yes!” James cheered, grabbing her hand. “But hurry! I want to see all those cool goggles!” . . .
