Chalalup Grotto
The Zaralup Grotto was a Buddhist grotto excavated during the Tubo period, also known as Paralubu. It was located on the mountainside of the eastern foot of the Medicine King Mountain in the Lhasa City, 22 meters above the ground. It was built in the 7th century 40s and was excavated by Consort Ru Yong (Jie Mozun) during the Songtsan Gambo period. It took 13 years to complete.
