Origin Stage (Early 20th century)** The Japanese government regulated the publication and distribution of comics through the publication law, which laid the initial foundation for the development of animation IP, and comics became the source of animation IP. ** 2. Rising Stage (1950s-1970s)** 1. In the 1950s, it began to rise, and representative manga artists such as Tezuka Osamu and Fujimoto appeared. 2. In the 1970s, he expanded overseas and produced works with international influence such as Astro Boy and Gundam. ** 3. Expansion Stage (1980s-1990s)** 1. The rise of video games in the 1980s brought the Japanese animation publishing industry into a new phase. 2. Maturity Stage (21st century to present)** 1. Under the IP operation mode, the manga would accumulate popularity and fan base for the IP, and then obtain the authorization for animation adaptation to ensure the recovery of animation production costs. For example,"Inuyasha" was a manga series from 1996 to 2008. It was very popular and had a large number of fans internationally. The TV version of the animation was broadcasted from 2000 to 2004, and the final episode was broadcasted from 2009 to 2010. There were also four movie versions of the animation. They were successful in many aspects such as manga sales, animation ratings, and box office. They also derived a variety of products such as games, forming a huge industry chain. 2. Although the development in the local and overseas markets was not completely synchronized, it still used animation and light novels as the IP core, and the development of peripheral derivative products became the most profitable part of the industry chain, including toys, games, COSPLAY, concerts, and other types. 3. In 2020, despite the impact of the epidemic, the demand of the comics market increased under the drive of excellent works, and the scale reached an all-time high. For example, the hot sales of "Ghost Blade" made the Japanese comics market reach 612.6 billion yen; While the animation market declined due to factors such as reduced production volume and cinema closure, the overall animation industry market scale still increased slightly, showing its high ability to resist risks. Read more exciting novels for free
