Dependent
Daniel Robertson is fifteen, exhausted, and trying desperately to keep himself together.
Between relentless bullying, sleepless nights, and a mind that’s beginning to turn against him, school has become something to survive rather than live through. What starts as depression slowly spirals into terrifying episodes of hallucinations, paranoia, and emotional regression that Daniel can no longer hide from the people around him.
As doctors, teachers, and family members begin stepping in, Daniel finds himself caught between wanting help and fearing what it means to need it. With rumours spreading through school, his relationship under strain, and his sense of self slipping further each day, Daniel must learn how to navigate a world that suddenly feels too loud, too fast, and dangerously unstable.
But recovery isn’t quick. And growing up becomes far more complicated when part of you is desperately trying to retreat backwards instead.
