The Monkey's Paw
On a stormy night at Laburnum Villa, the White family welcomes Sergeant-Major Morris, a soldier returned from years in India. Among his tales of war and wonder, he reveals a strange, shriveled object: a monkey’s paw said to grant its owner three wishes. But the paw carries a dreadful curse—each wish twists fate in cruel and horrifying ways.
Despite Morris’s warnings, Mr. White claims the talisman and makes a harmless wish for money. The next day, tragedy strikes, and the family discovers the terrible cost of tampering with destiny. Grief drives them to use the paw again, summoning something unnatural back into their lives, while the final wish comes too late to undo the horror at their door.
A chilling tale of greed, grief, and the unrelenting hand of fate, The Monkey’s Paw asks a haunting question: If you could change your destiny with a single wish, would you dare to try?
