The Extraordinary Life of Rob Murray...

The Extraordinary Life of Rob Murray...

The folks that supposedly know all about writing, publishing and printing books said, you have to tell them a little about yourself. Actually I have in the opening chapter at least. But again this is NOT supposed to be an autobiography about me, but rather the very unique experiences of my life. Naturally, some of me will creep into the pages because of how one thing led to another and then another etc. I have left a lot of the real me personal stuff out of the book on purpose for that reason. So after retiring from the military (US Air Force) after 24 pretty good years of service, I did all sorts of things but to be honest nothing was a perfect match for me. I cooked at aanEdgartown (Martha‘s Vineyard ) restaurant for a summer, drove a taxi mainly for tourists a couple oif years, worked in retail, cooked at an assisted living place, sold carpets, wood flooring, ceramic and all that for a few years. All of that was pleasureable most days, but just not me. So in 1996, remembering my service in Iceland and the litteral paradise it was in the 70‘s and 80‘s when I served there I decided to make the move. Having an Icelandic wife, that made the immigration application and approval fairly easy. Since one necessary requirement was a full time job to get a work permit. So I took a job at of all places McDonald‘s for nearly a year. A great training ground, But Iceland, like everywhere was changing, but with all the rukles and regulations about as close to slavery as busy as it was for anyone. I did announcing, finally getting on at a radio station with a show in fact three of my own over three years. But in the closing days of the century, the station changed hands a few times , managers even more frequently and someone discovered that if you taped stuff, ran computer programs and automated most of the time, you didn‘t have to pay salaries just the electric bill. So that ended the last day of 1999 when a new contract was offerred at about half pay. I declined. Then I went into tourism for 20 years, planning personal tours for people. That was great. It‘s an incredile beautiful country, expensive to live work and visit here but VERY worth the effort, even today. 2008 wasn‘t the only crash. My overall health declined rather suddenly, with iskemic optical neropathy, partially in both eyes, type two diabeties, high blood pressure and general unsteadiness, perhaps because of everything else. So enough about the author. If you want to know more, you‘ll have to ask. So enjoy the book, I wrote it to be enjoyed.

Snowfall in the North
Recently, snowfall has been more frequent and heavy in the northern region. From December 1 to 4, there were heavy snowfalls in eastern Inner Mongolia, heilong river, jilin, northeast liaoning, northern Xinjiang and other places. Medium snow and light snow were more common, and some areas would also have sleet. Previously, the cold wave weather had also brought heavy snowfall to the northeast region and other places. There were even record snowfalls in the provinces of Hei Long Jiang and Inner Mongolia. In the next ten days, there would be two cold air currents affecting our country, and many parts of the northeast would suffer heavy snowstorms again. Affected by the snowfall, the temperature generally dropped, and there might be frozen roads and reduced visibility. In such weather conditions, one had to be careful when traveling. For example, when driving, one had to ensure that the brake system and tires were in good condition and drive as slowly as possible. Walking should be done in places with thick snow, avoiding thin snow or ice and manhole covers. When riding a bicycle, one had to pay attention to the tire air not being too high to increase friction and ensure that the brakes were sensitive. Snowfall in 9 Provinces
It was not clear which nine provinces it was, so it was impossible to accurately answer whether there would be large-scale snowfall in these nine provinces. The snowfall in different areas was affected by many factors, such as the intersection of cold and warm air, topography, and so on. Recently, the snowfall in some areas is as follows: In Hunan, the provincial climate center predicted that from December 2024 to February 2025, although there was an obvious cooling process in late December, it was unlikely to snow; Snowfall had occurred in the northern part of Zhang Jiakou in Hebei on October 20; From November 24 to 27,2024, under the influence of the cold wave, there was heavy snow or blizzard in Gansu, central and eastern Inner Mongolia, northwestern Shanxi, northern Hebei and many other places; On January 21 - 22,2024, there were heavy snowstorms in parts of eastern Chongqing, southwest Hubei, Guizhou, Hunan and other places. There will be a heavy snowfall in the south
From the 21st to the 22nd, there would be a heavy snowfall in the south. There would be heavy snowstorms in parts of the Western Sichuan Plateau, eastern Chongqing, southern Hubei, southern Anhui, Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, central and western Zhejiang, northwest Fujian, and northeastern Guangxi, especially in central and western Hunan and eastern Guizhou. The southernmost boundary of this snowfall was roughly in Guilin, Shaoguan and Fuzhou. Among the big cities, Guiyang, Changsha, and Nanchang would all welcome significant snowfall. Changsha and Nanchang would have moderate to heavy snow, while Hangzhou and Shanghai would also have the opportunity to snow. In the southern region, attention should be paid to the adverse effects of snowfall on transportation, urban operations, and power communication facilities. This snowfall will also have a certain impact on agricultural production. The wheat in the northern winter wheat area will not be affected by the cooling, but the southern rape, open-field vegetables, economic fruits, etc. need to be protected from low-temperature freezing damage.

Is the snowfall the largest in a year?
The amount of snow during the Big Snow solar term was not the largest in a year. In fact, the solar term with the most snowfall in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River and its vicinity was the rain solar term in spring. Although the Great Snow solar term had a beautiful imagination in ancient literati, the modern people's yearning for snow did not mean that there would be a lot of snow in the Great Snow solar term. Therefore, the amount of snow during the Big Snow solar term was not the largest in a year.
