The One Thing Worth Protecting (GL)
Colonel Cassandra Blackwell has spent her life defined by discipline, duty, and control. As the commanding officer of a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier, she has no room for distractions—especially not someone like Major Shae Carter.
A legendary Special Forces operative with a reputation for accomplishing the impossible, Shae is brilliant, reckless, frustratingly charming, and completely unlike anyone Cassandra has ever met. What begins as a professional partnership quickly evolves into something neither woman expected. Beneath Shae’s confidence lies a lifetime of scars, secrets, and sacrifices. Beneath Cassandra’s composed exterior is a woman learning, perhaps for the first time, what it means to let someone in.
As military investigations, dangerous missions, and the ghosts of Shae’s past threaten to pull them apart, the two women find themselves drawn together in ways neither can ignore. Forced to navigate duty, trust, vulnerability, and an attraction that grows stronger with every passing day, they must decide whether the risks of opening their hearts are worth the possibility of losing them.
Set against the backdrop of military life, international operations, and impossible odds, this is a story of loyalty, healing, found family, and discovering that sometimes the bravest thing a soldier can do is allow themselves to be loved.

It’s a slow-burn romance… because apparently I enjoy making my characters (and readers) wait for the good stuff. But don’t worry—the sparks start catching fire by the end of Volume 1.
There are three volumes filled with a few surprises along the way that I’m definitely not going to spoil… you’ll just have to keep reading.
I hope you enjoy the story! This is my first time writing, so I’d love to hear what you think—the characters, the storyline, the drama, and all the little moments in between.
Stay tuned… you thought Volume 1 was the end? Oh, no. We’re just getting started.

9/19/26: To everyone who’s been reading my novel—thank you! I truly hope you’ve been enjoying the story so far!
I also wanted to make a little announcement: I’m going back and rewriting the first two novels to make the writing flow more smoothly and feel less choppy. The storylines have NOT changed at all—the characters, plot, and everything that happens are still exactly the same. I’ve simply given the writing a little polish.
So, if you decide to reread them and notice that some things sound different, that’s why! And if you haven’t read them yet, hopefully you’ll enjoy the smoother version even more.
It’s definitely been a lot of work, but I really think it’ll pay off in the end and make the story a better reading experience. Thank you for sticking with me and giving my story a chance. I hope you enjoy it either way!
