The Mermaid Bride of Broken Fate
Neriah Vale has been married more times than she can remember to Kings, warlords, emperors...you name it. Every one of them died within a year and it was all her.
So, when Emperor Kael Draven chooses her as his bride, the court waits for only one thing: his funeral.
But this time, things didn't happen as expected.
“I heard you kill every man you marry,” Kael said calmly, watching her across the throne room.
Neriah lowered her eyes in regret. “Then Your Majesty, you should not have chosen me.”
A faint smile grew on his lips.
“Or maybe,” he said, “I’m the one thing you can’t kill.”
Neriah has a secret no one knows...Everyone thinks she takes lives, but it turns out she only takes their fate. Every husband she marries is meant to die and she dies in their place, over and over again.
That is her curse, her purpose, and hers to bear.
But Kael Draven has no fate to take.
“You’re breaking,” he said quietly, gripping her wrist as blood slipped from her lips.
Neriah forced a weak smile.
“Good,” she whispered. “Then maybe I’ll finally be free.”
His eyes widened. “From what exactly?”
As the ocean begins to call her back and the truth behind her existence slowly surfaces, Neriah must make a choice either to continue dying for a world that fears her...
Or stand beside the only man who refuses to let her die and destroy fate itself.
