He is trying to oppose his father, who works as a politician and also being very skillful Ars Goetian. In a Dream reality called - Dreamscape, he and his father have a goal - find a legendary - lesser key of Solomon. This certain key exists only in the dreamworld and can open the gates of "Haven" and lead a person to a "Promised Land" to obtain infinite luck, wealth, and power in the real world. Akira himself believes that by opening the gates to the promised land, he can find the spirit of his dead mother.
