The Shadow of Great Britain

The Shadow of Great Britain

“Next, we have the most noble recipient of the Order of the Garter, the Grand Cross of Saint Michael and Saint George, the Grand Cross of the Bath, the Victoria Cross and the lower grades of Knighthood, the leader of the anti-colonial movement, the bell-ringer of the East India Company, the hero of the Crimean War, a Fellow of the Royal Society, a lifelong dear friend of literary giants such as Dickens and Great Dumas, a steadfast supporter of scientific luminaries like Faraday and Darwin, having served as assistant under-secretary, deputy under-secretary, and permanent under-secretary in departments of the Home Office and the Navy Department of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the inaugural Cabinet Secretary and head of the civil service, the first graduate and most distinguished alumnus of our school. Please welcome Sir Arthur Hastings to deliver a speech on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the University of London.” Arthur's gaze swept across the crowd before him, looking at the young faces and murmured, “Agares, what do you think I should say?” The Red Devil's wraith hovered behind him, saliva almost dribbling from the corner of his mouth, “Look at these ignorant souls; they still worship you as a hero. Why not say something they'd like to hear?” Arthur took a deep breath and let out a deafening roar, “Oxford is a bunch of whores' bastards!” “Oh!!!!” The audience erupted into thunderous applause. “Cambridge is the same!” he added immediately. The applause grew even more fervent... (The protagonist, possessed by a devil, travels through 19th-century Britain in a world without magic)

Naruto : The Wind Calamity

Naruto : The Wind Calamity

The MC transmigrates into Narutoverse in the body of a civilian orphan. Luckily for him, the transmigration results in chakra being unlocked. Follow the story of the MC as he grows in power and stabilizes himself into the world of ninjas and trains to be the strongest.  Warning :  1. The MC won't be op for a long time. All his power would be gained via hard work and training over years (so if u want an op mc right from the word go, this one ain't for you) 2. No harem (probably no romance either) 3. There will be a lot of killing (maybe gore too, not sure if I can do gore right though) 4. The story will start slow. Quite a few of initial chapters will be around training, orphanage and academy life, instead of directly becoming a Genin. 5. MC is a careful person, he won't put his life at risk unless there is no other choice. 6. I haven't read (nor will be reading) Baruto. So Baruto plotline won't be considered much in here. What to expect : 1. Smart and consistent MC  2. Lots of training 3. MC manipulating the plot to his advantage 4. A lot of original arcs.  5. Plot will mostly stay the same (at least till Shippuden), but I won't repeat any scenes/dialogues that took place in the manga (as I'm assuming you've already read it). Disclaimer : I don't own Naruto or its characters (except the original characters I create). The image used in the cover isn't mine and belongs to R. J PS : It's my first fanfic, I'm hoping it turns out good. All reviews and constructive criticisms are welcome. Grammar and English should be fine, but I'm not sure how good the dialogues and scenarios will be. Hopefully I'll improve as this fanfic progresses forward.

A '70s Flash Marriage: Raising Cubs, Making Millions

Fu Xiaoxiao transmigrates into a book and immediately faces the crisis of being sent to the countryside. As the unloved middle child, her younger sister is the one meant to go — but her mother transfers her job to the sister instead. A disaster of a start. To avoid being sent away, she has to marry within seven days. She meets a few ordinary men and decides she'd rather go to the countryside. Then she runs into a neighbor who's also looking for a spouse — and his conditions are surprisingly good. A dowry of three hundred? Bicycles and a radio? Just take care of the kids, and separate rooms are fine? The others may pass, but she won't. Every day is a battle of wits with the two kids. Life is eventful, she gets a salary every month, and the boss is never home. Absolutely perfect. Except... wasn't this big shot supposed to be infertile? Then why does he keep strutting around naked in front of her? She has professional ethics. She won't be seduced by a good body. Hmph. Men only slow down her sword swing. Lu Feng grits his teeth at Fu Xiaoxiao, who remains completely unmoved by his countless attempts to seduce her, and traps her in his arms. "Boss, let's talk this through. I know forty a month is a bit much — how about... five less?" Trapped in his embrace, Fu Xiaoxiao thinks he's unhappy with her high salary and starts bargaining. "I'm giving myself to you for free." Lu Feng grinds out through clenched teeth. This woman has no heart. "...Can I say no?" Fu Xiaoxiao swallows, staring at the washboard abs so close. "Such a good deal — are you sure you don't want it?" Lu Feng squints, tempting her. "Fine." A fool turns down a bargain.

In the wind and rain, there is your shadow
The phrase " your shadow in the wind and rain " had different meanings in different situations. It could be a description of people who held their posts and performed their duties in the wind and rain, such as the police and armed police forces stationed in Lingyuan First Prison fighting in blizzard weather to ensure the safety of the relevant areas of the prison and smooth roads, or in special times, like the epidemic prevention and control personnel of Taizi Town holding their posts in the snow to protect the safety of their jurisdiction. At the same time, this expression also appeared in musical works, conveying the emotion of having someone to accompany you in a difficult situation. For example, the song " There's Your Shadow in the Wind and Rain " expressed the emotion of being silently protected and never abandoned in the wind and rain. The lyrics reflected the emotion of being supported by love despite the pain and weakness. In addition, it could also be used to describe the image of an admirable person in life in the wind and rain, such as the tall image of the traffic police uncle at the entrance of the primary school, who stood at his post to direct traffic regardless of the wind and rain. In modern poetry, it could be used to express gratitude to the people or groups who accompanied him in the wind and rain. " Hugging You in the Wind of the City " was equally exciting. Catch the meaning of the wind shadow
"Catching wind and shadows" meant that the wind and shadows were both invisible things. The original metaphor was that things were as elusive as the wind and shadows. The latter metaphor was that there was no basis for speaking or doing things. For example,"If you are leisurely, it seems that you do not do it, but if you catch wind and catch shadows, you have made great progress!" Song·Zhu Xi's 'Xue Yi'. Its antonyms were "looking at the wind and catching shadows","creating something out of nothing","hearsay", and its antonyms were "seeking truth from facts","hearing and seeing", and "unwavering". What idiom is the wind shadow?
Wind shadow was not a specific idiom, but there were some idioms that contained the word "wind shadow", such as catching wind and catching shadows, watching the wind and catching shadows, etc. The basic meaning of these idioms was to describe unfounded or unreliable rumors and superficial phenomena. Among them,"wind" and "shadow" were difficult to capture or illusory symbols. In addition, when the wind shadow was explained alone, it could refer to the shadow of an object swaying in the wind, or it could also refer to a specious and inconclusive sign, or it could also describe the short-lived or illusory nature of an object. The wind and shadow are slightly distinct
Only the short sentence "The wind and shadow are slightly distinct" came from Nalan Xingde's "Lotus Leaf Cup". Who is in the little red pavilion? The jade hairpin knocks on the bamboo, and the wind is slightly clear." It created a hazy and perceptive atmosphere in the poem. From the overall meaning of the poem, it was speculated that after the protagonist heard the sound of the jade hairpin hitting the bamboo, he had a rough outline perception of the shadow in the wind (possibly the figure of the person he missed), but this perception was vague and inaccurate, only slightly distinct. In the wind and rain, there is your shadow
There were many poems that involved the expression "Your figure is in the wind and rain." These poems expressed different emotions and topics by describing the figures of specific people or forces in the wind and rain. Some poems expressed their gratitude to the anti-epidemic personnel with the words "You are in the wind and rain" under the background of anti-epidemic disease. They stuck to the difficult anti-epidemic work. Like those who fought on the front line of anti-epidemic disease, their figures fought hard in the wind and rain, creating miracles one after another, guarding the country, life, community, etc., making people feel warmth and hope. There were also love poems that might describe the storms of love."Your figure" might be a lover, expressing feelings such as regret, longing, and persistence in love, such as missing out in love, memories, or confusion and persistence on the road of love. There were also poems that described life's difficulties. For example, when they encountered a sandstorm in the wilderness, the phrase "Your figure in the wind and rain, your footsteps" expressed the peace and calmness brought by some kind of power (perhaps faith or help from others) in the predicament. In addition, like the poem describing the police guarding the masses in the wind and rain,"The dark blue figure in the wind and rain" showed the public security police holding their posts in bad weather. In order to protect the safety of the masses, they went against the wind. Their figures represented responsibility, mission, and deep feelings for the masses. They were the light of hope in the darkness. "Hugging You in the Wind of the City" was equally exciting. Everyone was welcome to click and read it!
