In order to calm the situation in the town and get rid of the tension resulting from an incident, Alex's mother Miranda Gilbert suggested that she send Alex to her sister Melissa McCall in the town of Beacon Hills in California, but his life changes and turns upside down. He and his cousin Scott are attacked by a giant creature larger than a bear and similar to a wolf. He discovers that the supernatural world is real and that there are creatures lurking around them at night. He discovers that his family is hiding many secrets from him and that he is adopted in reality. What will Alex do and how?
