Forging Cloudy Weather

Forging Cloudy Weather

Niko has lived the majority of his life waiting for something to happen. Though he could handle being in a big group of semi-acquainted classmates, he didn’t really have any friends. His mother worked nights, his dad was never in the picture and his one close friend, Jordan, was really the only one who had ever been there for him. When he finds himself falling into a chasm filled with flames, Niko sees his supposed best friend smiling brightly, happier than he's ever seen him. As the flames get closer, Niko can only think of a place he's never been, images flooding his mind as he inches closer towards death. Upon opening his eyes, he finds the field he'd imagined, magical and unearthly, surrounding his un-singed body. Niko gets contracted to a Flair named Plu, a fairy-like creature dressed as a flower. She claims to be his guide, having contracted with him by accident and unable to break it until he gets an official authorization from the king, who seems to have gone missing. He gets whisked away to a world more fantastical and filled with magic than his own could ever hope to be. Content as he is to mingle with the great new unknown he's found himself mired in, Niko accidentally gets cursed, befriends a talking goldfish, gets stabbed by a one-eyed cat, and meets a mysterious masked fighter with a penchant for drunken flirting. It doesn’t help when he gets accused of murdering the high priest and stealing his magic gloves. Now, Niko has to dodge palace guards, try not to let his curse get the best of him and figure out how to get magical gloves off his hands without resorting to amputation. All while trying to find a king no one has ever seen and getting further entangled in the secrets of his new friends.
