THE TALL TREE It was a tree like no other. Full of life and potential. Tall in ways no tree could compare. It was proud, why shouldn't it be? it was taller that any tree in the forest and showed no sign of stopping, every creature that could inhabit a tree flocked to it for protection. And protect them it did, by growing even taller. It refused stagnation. It bent for nothing. The breeze became a wind, It grew. The wind became a gust, it grew. The gust became a gale, it grew. It couldn't stop, not just because it had acquired a taste for unchecked growth. But because it carried the safety of every tree living beast in the forest on it's branches. Then one night the gale became a mighty Storm. The storm raged for hours and hours, unleashing it's fury upon the world. But because it stood the tallest, the poor tree bore the brunt of the raging storm. It should have survived... If hadn't been so tall. It could have survived... If it just bent. It would have survived... If it wasn't sheltering others while fighting for it's life. But it refused to bend, so it broke. And the beasts moved on to other trees the very next day. Living on, only in thier memories. Unfortunately, beasts had very poor memories.
