Anna was very satisfied with what she saw. She was organising a big party for her son and two of his friends who shared the same birthday. She and the other mothers, Helen and Suki, had spent the morning decorating the rOom they had hired. It looked wonderful with all the streamers and balloons. Helen, who had been a wheelchair-user since an accident some years previously, had also been busy in the kitchen preparing a fabulous spread for the children. "All we need now is the entertainment group," said Suki. "They're meant to be really good and they'll hopefully keep the children amused for most of the time." "I certainly hope so," laughed Helen. "We all know how easily a large group of excited little boys can get out of control." It wasn't long before the room was filled with noisy and increasingly unruly children. Anna and her friends were getting worried. The entertainers should have arrived an hour ago. Anna's mother approached the group holding out a mobile phone. "Anna, your phone's been ringing. You didn't hear it because of all the noise." As Anna listened to the message, a look of horror spread across her face. "The entertainers have been involved in an accident. They're all OK, but there's no way they can get here for the party," she told the others. "What on earth are we going to do?" "Well, there's a piano over there. I can play some party music," said Anna's mother. "You can't play the piano, Mum," laughed Anna. "Oh, I've been having lessons for a while," replied her mother. "And I've been taking lessons in magic at night school," Helen joined in. "I think I can conjure up a show." Toradora! (とらドラ!) is a Japanese light novel series by Yuyuko Takemiya, with illustrations by Yasu. The series includes ten novels released between March 10, 2006 and March 10, 2009, published by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. Three volumes of a spin-off light novel series were also created, aptly titled Toradora Spin-off!. A manga adaptation by Zekkyō started serialization in the September 2007 issue of the shōnen manga magazine Dengeki Comic Gao!, published by MediaWorks. The manga ended serialization in Dengeki Comic Gao! with the March 2008 issue, but continued serialization in ASCII Media Works' manga magazine Dengeki Daioh with the May 2008 issue.

I don't want to suffer through the end of the world…] Looking at the little milk dumpling in their arms, pretending to be silly just so she can laze around… What else can the Bai family do but spoil her? They hoard supplies, renovate and fortify their home, and prepare in advance for the coming apocalypse. Meanwhile, little Yunyun follows her protagonist aunt, accidentally kicking off the base-building plot and helping create a super base where food and clothing are abundant, even in the apocalypse. Step by step, the Bai family rises to power. In the end, Yunyun is dumbfounded: [Wait… wasn't I supposed to be cannon fodder?! Why does this feel like a "pampered lucky baby" story?!] The Bai family: Their little Yunyun is, indeed, their precious lucky baby.
