The century long war had just ended and humanity had managed to get their hands on alien technology, sending them years ahead in terms of technological advancement, fulfilling their hope of finding life outside their planet and their desire to dominate these extra-terrestrial existences. The effects of their technological advancement alone wasn’t capable of giving this result. The appearance of mutations which granted supernatural powers among humans was another boon giving them the chance to act out their darkest desires. Their joy took a dark turn when it was revealed that they were nothing more than livestock to the mysterious race, Xillthars, who cultivated them to that level. Like fattening livestock. Shortly before this dark turn of times was a forbidden creature, Kieran who had been born into the lowest levels of a society created by the greed of humans. To him, life had always been hard, but things got worse after the arrival of the Xillthars as he found himself on a trail of shocking discoveries about himself and the world around him.

DISCLAIMER: This story is written in the present tense, first-person, and in multiple POV's. Therefore, it might be jarring—moreover, confusing at the beginning and in some parts of the story—however, as the first Volume is a setup book, it's intentional. I almost just got hit right now Sir and you are still telling me I need not know?’’ she asked in a slightly elevated hushed tone. ‘I’ll explain it all to you but do you see that car over there’ I asked pointing towards my car and she nodded. ‘I am going to cover you and I want you to run as hard as you can. Do you hear me?’ I asked looking at her directly. ‘’You might not know this but I am a level four combatant now but my dad put a pause to my trainings because of my studies so the least I can do is run’’ she said with a shrug of her shoulders. ‘I know everything about you L4 combatant. On my count of three, you run’ I said as I pulled out an Akdal Ghost TR01 pistol from the back of my pants. ‘One Two…’ I started but she cut me off, ‘’don’t get hit Milky Way’’ she said and I chortled lightly, surprised that she was still worrying about me even though I put her in harm’s way only a couple of seconds ago and at the nickname she just reciprocated in calling me. ‘I’ll try. Three!’ I said and she started running while I side ran with her shooting at the direction the bullet came from the other time. Because I was running, the bullets fired back did not touch me at first but before I got to my car, I was shot in my arm. I opened the door of the car to get in and was expecting Martha to do same but that was when I turned back and saw it. Martha did not make it to the car, she was sprawled on the floor, in her red dress, with her blood flowing from her side.
