Babylon Dispatch Network

My father was murdered when I was 16, and my mother abandoned me soon after. Let me provide some context. Babylon was built to showcase the United World Government's unification of Earth and supers. This megacity in the Pacific was engineered for a world where reality could be edited, augmented, or escaped through neural tech. Nearly everyone lives in this virtual space known as the Altnet. Almost everyone. I live outside the system, not by choice, but by biology. My body rejects neural implants, anchoring me to the physical realm while society drifts between realities. I had no superpowers, but the Aegis-Frame exosuit let me defeat any super, and my AI Nero helped me operate in the Altnet. After years searching for my father’s killer, I found what seemed like a lead, but it was a trap that destroyed both my suit and Nero. Now, no different than any other mortal, I would have accepted never being able to avenge my father, but luck brought me a job at BDN, the government’s emergency hotline for super threats. But, more than that, I also have to coordinate with the regular police department, who are all androids that have a weird interest with me that is borderline obsessive. Instead of being out on the frontlines, I now have to manage a motley crew of helpless superheroes, killer warbots, and all the personality clashes that come with it. However, my motivation to bring my father’s killer to justice far outweighs any chance of giving up. I will find them, and no obstacle or challenge will get in my way. My name is Kael Everhart, and I invite you to accompany me on my journey as an overworked employee at Babylon Dispatch Network.
