What if you purchase a book from a second hand bookstore and found a dying letter written on it? What would you do? Would you ignore it? Would you try finding the previous owner? This is the dilemma of Eric, a young D.J. of an evening segment to a radio station. He bought a book at a small second hand bookstore. When he got home, he tried to browse the pages of the book. He then noticed that at the last blank pages of the book, a letter was written. It started with the greeting, “Yam” and ended with “Your Dad.” It is actually a letter of a dying father to his daughter whom he had not talked to for ages. Having read it several times, Eric wanted to give the book to the daughter but his dilemma is he does not know where to look for her. The only clue that he has is the simple greeting, “Yam.” The letter kept on bugging him, as if pleading to be sent to the addressee. What will he do? Would Eric be able to give the dying message of the father to his daughter?

The novel revolves around three story lines:- 1. Prof. Mathew 2. Sasi and Amit(college undergraduates) 3. Detectives Govind and Srikant 1.Prof. Mathew:- He is a professor in an engineering college and is also a recent divorcee. He has absurd nightmares about a man reciting to him old poetry and threatening to kill him, after which he finds himself in the terrace in the morning(presumably sleepwalking to the terrace each time he has this nightmare). He is also forgetting things at a constant rate so much so that he has completely forgotten what he teaches and has resorted to teaching a mathematically calculated language(which he claims to have created himself) to his students as his courses don't account for much. 2.Sasi and Amit are first year college undergraduates. While wandering around the campus, they meet Hussain, a super senior(one who has graduated college but still stays in the campus) who is also the founder of 'Raining jacket Inc.' which is a startup which, with the help of its device 'Raining Jacket', manages to manipulate people's minds with the AI devices they use like phone, laptop etc to like someone else( most precisely it's clients). Hussain hires them and all of them go through a journey of being fascinating by the extent to which Raining Jacket can manipulate the mind into liking someone. 3. Detectives Govind and Srikant are investigating the murders of a serial killer on the college campus(same as prof. Mathew, Sasi and Amit) who follows a pattern of alternate gender murders. They are also close flatmates whose kids got exchanged when they were born, and they are in the process of accepting their real kids, after swapping them with each other.

He steadied his shoulders and met the tiny Greed’s eyes blocking the box he’d reached for, “I’ve worked two double shifts this week, yes it’s outside of budget, and not on the list, but...” He took a moment as Chibi Pride nodded encouragingly. “Twice this week I left work so late I was too tired to make anything. Yes, it’s cheaper, yes, it’s healthier, but I need something I can grab on the go, or stuff my face in under ten minutes. I’ll ride my bike to work to cut back bus fares.” Greed glared at his companions, “We’re supposed to work together.” Pride grinned showing all his teeth, “We are.” The other five all grinned at Greed playfully. “I am getting a box of Lucky Charms Greed.” Max didn’t let his voice waver under Greed’s increasingly irate scowl. After a small hesitation, he reached for the box next to Greed, and put it in his cart. When Pride patted his ear he let out the breath he’d been holding as a wide smile spread over his face. Hell yeah! I finally did it! After three months, they, no he, managed to stand his ground. Ryan, the security guard, watched the young man… talk to a box of cereal. All the fucking crazies around here, he hated it when they started talking to themselves. Never knew when one would get violent… at least this kid was a regular… always talking to fruits, vegetables, sometimes the occasional discounted meat. He leaned his head to his walkie talkie, “It’s our fruit negotiator, apparently the cereal isn’t keen on going home with him today. Tell Karen she can relax.” Ruby listened to the chatter as she gave her best customer service smile to their very own special Karen. She’d refused to pay for her four hundred dollars’ worth of groceries until someone verified the crazy guy she’d spotted had been spoken to. Her two crotch goblins still screaming hysterically in the father’s cart… they had to be at least eight years old already… God how much longer was her shift? Ruby checked her phone… seven hours… and twenty-three more minutes… not including her lunch.
