quetzalcoatlus northropi

Quetzalcoatlus was a species of Pterosaurids that lived in the Late cretaceous period (about 84 million to 65 million years ago). It was one of the largest groups of flying animals discovered by humans. Its name was derived from the name of the feathered serpent god in the Aztec civilization, Quetzalcoatl. There were two species of Quetzalcoatlus that had been discovered. They were the Quetzalcoatlus Norssi with a wingspan of about 12 meters and the Quetzalcoatlus Lawson with a wingspan of about 5.5 meters. Both were carnivores that were distributed in the North American continent during the Late cretaceous period. The Winged Dragon Wind God had a sharp and toothless beak, a thick neck, and wide wings. The wingspan of the Quetzalcoatlus was comparable to that of a Cessna 172 light aircraft. According to the wingspan, its shoulder height was up to three meters and its height was even up to six meters, comparable to a gibbon. The wings of the Winged Dragon Wind God evolved from the forearm. They had no feathers and were mainly made of special skin. The "wing membrane" was supported by the arm bones, wing bones, and "wing fingers." The body was streamlined, and the wings were shaped like leaves, which was beneficial for long-term gliding. The "wing membrane" had a support structure formed by slender muscle fibers that could adjust the tension and shape of the wings. They usually couldn't take off at any time like birds. They might run a short distance or jump from a high place to take off with the help of the airflow, or they might use their forearms as a pivot to push off the ground and take off with the help of their wings. Although its wingspan could reach 12 meters, its weight could reach 500 pounds. It could not fly for a long time with its wings alone. Most of the time, it would glide with the help of the updraft. Quetzalcoatlus appeared in the 2022 movie "Jurassical World 3" and the documentary "Prehistoric Planet." In theory, it was possible for the Winged Dragon Wind God to carry a very light person, but taking off with a person was a big problem. Perhaps it could only jump off from a high place. In addition, the Quetzalcoatlus Wind God had excellent vision, which was four times the accuracy of the human eye. It could see the violet rays, and it was top-heavy and light-footed. After landing, it crawled on all fours. Although its bone structure was not suitable for fighting, it would prey on young Tyrannosauruses. The novel "Flood Dragon" is equally exciting.
