Jin Yong (March 12, 1918-December 16, 2003), formerly known as Zha Liangyong, was born in Haining, Zhejiang Province. He was a famous writer of martial arts novels and was hailed as the "father of martial arts novels". His representative works included Book and Sword, Smiling Proud in the World, The Return of the Condor Heroes, The Eight Dragons, The Sword of the Blue Blood, and hundreds of other martial arts novels that were loved by readers. Jin Yong's works not only influenced the martial arts novel market at that time, but also deeply influenced the culture and society on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. He was regarded as one of the treasures of Chinese culture.
