The following is an example of a lesson plan for the middle class: ** 1. Teaching objectives ** 1. Let the children feel the solar terms of the minor cold and the major cold to understand their origins. 2. Guide the children to actively participate in classroom activities and talk about their thoughts on solar terms. 3. Help children understand the natural phenomena and customs of the solar terms of the Great Cold and the Lesser Cold. ** 2. Teaching preparation ** PowerPoint, related pictures. ** 3. Teaching process ** 1. ** Introduction of solar terms ** - The teacher showed the pictures of the twenty-four solar terms to introduce the little cold and the great cold. Tell the children that the small cold is between January 5 - 7 every year, marking the beginning of the cold days of the year, followed by the big cold. These two solar terms are the colder times of the year. When the Little Cold solar term arrived, it also meant entering the twelfth month of the lunar calendar. 2. ** Explain natural phenomena (Take Xiao Han as an example)** - [Fruit tree anti-freezing]: Tell the children that in the small cold season, after a heavy snowfall, the fruit farmer will shake off the snow on the fruit tree to prevent the branches from being frozen or broken by the heavy snow. - ** Magpie's Nest **: It was introduced that magpies liked to live in places where there were many human activities. They often built their nests on the big trees next to the houses. It took four months to build their nests, so they started preparing early to lay eggs and hatch young birds in the coming year. - ** Wintersweet Fragrance **: Let the children observe the picture of the wintersweet. Explain that the wintersweet is mostly yellow, the petals are hard, and the flower buds are smooth and thick, as if they are coated with a layer of wax, so they are called wintersweet. It could be compared with plum blossoms, such as plum blossoms with soft petals, late blooming, short flowering period, light taste, and various colors. 3. ** Game Activity ** - The game of "I ask, you answer" For example, ask children how to distinguish between wintersweet and plum blossoms; the place where magpies like to live, the location of their nests, the time needed to build their nests, the materials of their nests, etc.; the effect of low temperature on crops during the Little Cold Festival; the way fruit farmers deal with the snow on fruit trees after heavy snow, etc. 4. ** Explanation of customs (Minor Cold and Great Cold)** - ** Farming **: Most of the northern regions entered the winter break after the small cold. The main task was to do a good job in vegetable cellars, livestock houses to keep warm, fertilizer production, and so on. People would also predict the climate change in the coming year according to the small cold climate. For example, there were sayings in Shandong that said,"If there is no rain in the small cold, there will be drought in the big heat." There were fewer farming activities during the Great Cold, mainly to prepare for the coming spring. - ** Life **: After the small cold, the atmosphere of the new year became stronger. People began to write couplets, cut window grilles, buy New Year paintings, colored lights, firecrackers, incense, etc. to prepare for the Spring Festival. During the great cold, the atmosphere of preparation for the new year also continued. - ** Dieting **: In the cold season, mutton hotpot, sugar-fried chestnuts, and roasted sweet potatoes are fashionable foods. In the cold season, there are also some nourishing foods suitable for cold weather, such as eating rice cakes (can be supplemented according to local customs). 5. ** Music event (option)** - Play cheerful songs about winter or the season that are suitable for young children, such as Little Bee. The teacher will demonstrate the singing first. Let the children feel the lively and cheerful tune of the song and master the rhythm characteristics of the 2/4 beat. Then, the children were asked to learn the lyrics along with the music and learn to sing the song in sections. Individual singing, group singing, male and female duet singing and other forms of practice singing, encouraging children to add movements to the creative singing. ** IV. Summing Up and Review ** - Teachers and children review the relevant knowledge of the Little Cold and Great Cold solar terms together, including natural phenomena, customs, and so on.
